What's a good role playing game with good story and good combat? I need something to waste countless hours in so alot of things to do? Help is appreciated! I guess I would perfer an open world? Thanks I can pretty much run anything soo get at me bros!

I would have suggested real world from your selected criteria. It's as open world as it gets. Story in real world is always dependent on your actions (aka the classic your actions affect your outcome). Combat can be tricky, but rewarding once you put some effort into it. There will be trainers who you can pay to increase your combat skills as well. You'll waste countless hours playing. User reviews show that they have been playing until the day they die. It's on hardcore mode on default, so no respawns or quick saves unfortunately.

Seriously though, what you are suggesting is quite close to the new fallouts, though I'm guessing everyone here to Mars have played that, and the more classic CRPGs will not fit with your open world. If you want action orientated combat, I heard Kingdoms of Amalur will not let you down.

I've only played Neverwinter Nights 2, but I enjoyed it. I don't know if you'd like the combat, though.

Is Combat turn based? Or mash 1-9 using skills? Hah

It's kind of similar to D&D, with die rolls that determine how successful your attack is. As far back as I can remember it was sort of a more SPAM MOUSE BUTTON style fighting but the damage and such was pretty random besides weapon type, etc.

There aren't many open world games that have good combat, little alone good stories. You could try The Witcher 2, a space game such as Space Rangers 2 (I never figured it out myself but it has an amazing amount of content).

You could try Gearhead. It's a free Mecha rougelike with various story lines you can do.

Prospector is a good space exploration rougelike that is also free. No real story per say, but it is very open ended.

Both Witcher games. E.Y.3 Divine Cybermancy, STALKER, Vampire the Masquerade Redemption and Bloodlines. Deus Ex games (Some people hate on number 2. I enjoyed number 2, but I played it before one or three). Anachronox I highly recommend if you can find it very good story line, with great humor in it. The Nomad Soul is also great. It's combat is: FPS sequences, and Tekken style fighting.

Have you tried Arcanum yet? Or maybe even Jagged Alliance 2 if you feel like playing a game with guns.
