Suggestions on Weather

I did a search to see if these ideas were mentioned and after some perusal did not find them previously mentioned(hopefully I am not wrong). I think when it rains, if possible, there should be a raining sound effect and maybe even lightning and thunder(done similarly as it is done in Shogun:Total War). Were this possible it would make fighting in the rain or in lightning, especially at night, very fun. I doubt the lightning is possible, but even a rain sound effect would make a fairly big difference.

Definitely sound effects to go with the weather. Nothing would be cooler to than to fight a night battle in a thunderstorm. As the bolts of lightning crack, the sky gets illuminated just in time for you to see that dark hunter's blade find your neck...

More sound effects are of course going to be added, we do not know if slowing the troops down will be able to be implemented or not.

I don't think that would be difficult. For the big map, I think it would be needed that weather effects show up there, when you enter that area, party speed is decreased, like when you go through forest. On the battlefield, if it is raining, a simple modifier would make all speed decrease by either a fixed number or a proportion. Not hard to do, I'd imagine. But I'm not a programmer, so what do I know

Also, when it rains "cats and dogs", I want to hear all that appropriate meowing and barking, together with splashing sounds. Unarmored troops should constantly take damage.

it would be cool for units to be effected by the weather. for instance, horses are scared by lightning, archers shoot poorly in rain, people with heavy armour are effected by hail clanging on their plate, etc.

People with heavy armour are affected more by lightning. HAil will not hurt a lot, lightning will fry them!
