I just want to point out that I wish that Mount & Blade 2 should be in the making after the current Mount & Blade reach to version 1.0 , The reason why I said this is because I think it's about time that the developers should get a new engine that allows better visual graphics, better options, better performance, and have the ability to mod almost everything in the game. I just want to point out a few things that I wish to see in the future of Mount & Blade.

-Graphics/Visuals: Since Mount & Blade is based on Chiverly and Medieval Warfare, it's about time that we start seeing some dramatic fighting, realistic AI's, Realistic building construction and destructions, and all loads of goods to see for beautiful Eye-Candy and the ability to add more into the game by the maker's choice.

-Sound/Music: I want to hear some realistic swordfights, blade hitting each others, bone's cracking when strucked with a hammer, Fist hitting skins, all kinds of realistic sounds. The music need to fit into the game, the current music we have just sound so boring, unrealistic, non-religious, and a lot more negatives. It's time that we place some nice realistic music into the game, Like whenever I walk into town, I might hear religious chorus coming nearby the church, when I walk right next to the fountain, I want to hear the water in the fountain in reality, when I go near the beach, I want to hear seagulls and waves, along with man commanding the boats.

-More exotic weapons: Nords suppose to have Celtic like weapons, like a wierd shaped axe, gladius with an nice handle, all kinds of unique, ethnic type weapons. We have the same boring weapons that don't even look good, no jewels sparking, no sharpness on the edge, no mirrored self... nothing unique...

-Storyline: I started playing the game, gone to the first village with is zenden, and appeared at the gates... I don't even have a storyline quest, I just go to the tavern, talk to people, recuit people, get my equipment, and go... no storyline what so ever really degrade and make the game not really fun. You don't got a mission, you just go around killing and killing and killing, and soon you get worned out and quit playing the game cause it's repetitive. In the future, I want a storyline, and I also want to see dramatic movie-like video/cutscenes. something that is around let say... "world of Warcraft" -like movies or "Guild Wars"-like movies, anywhere between them.

There is more to add in, but I doubt that you might be interested on them because "your more focus on improving this game", and "we cannot afford such an expansive game, we lack funds/skills!" complains that I will hear of to many people.

Great suggestions! I would love to see them in the game. Now contact Armagan asking for his bank account and donate a hefty sum, followed by a request to enter the development team.

It is pretty hard to add all of that stuff. I suggest waiting. And posting in the right section next time.

What ARE you going on about?
Actually, this comes the closest
to a reasonable suggestion, IMO,
but jewels? mirrors? Please no.

I WOULD like to see some
more divergence, but not of
this nature. Just make it so
that weapons of one faction
show up readily in their local.
Seems to be skewed a bit that
way now, but I'd like more.

I think its a bit early to start suggestions for m&b 2. You dont even know what Armagan has in store for us in 1.0 yet, its a long way off. Who's to say that Armagan doesn't plan on adding more 'eye candy' to this version of m&b?

How about weapons with runes?

In my opinion, these are all very superficial suggestions, aside from the 'realistic AIs' which for some reason in the 'graphics/visuals' suggestion.

However, I have the most beef with the storyline suggestion probably. I think a lot of people overlook the complexities of narrative structures in games and the difficulties developers have in effectively combining them with the gameplay. Games with decent storylines are very hard to come by, and there's a reason for that: it ain't easy. I may look into the matter a bit further if I have time and attempt to resolve the possible ways of implementing story and motivation effectively in Mount&Blade, but for now I will merely remind people that the open-ended nature of Mount&Blade's gameplay makes an effective story problematic for quite a few reasons (some are well demonstrated in Storymod (which, by the way, wasn't made by someone who simply didn't know what they were doing)).

Well there are different kinds of ways to implement good narrative in games. I personally like some of the jRPG games, because they are like movies, but you can take part in them. Final Fantaies are strong in narrative side, the actual game consists of walking around, and activating scenes, and very Very repetitive fighting in large quantities... Still I consider them good games, not because of the mechanics but the storyline.

What is more fitting in game like M&B would be series of smaller story arcs. Like Somebody falling in love with you/you companion hero (or the other way around). Or rare disease that strikes your companion, and require small questing. Not the "Only this rare flower that lives in dragons nest, and blossoms every one hundred year can help her now!" -style, but with good taste.. You prolly get the point..

So story arcs, something that does not require player to jump from one to another. Or forces too much playing style, but somethin smallish to spice up the game. Oh and if these were in some separate folders, and could easily be made by other player, distributed and added in game.. That would be great. They should have some triggers, maybe some prequisities (When player has 500 renown, and is injured in combat, or after you have helped some poor lady in distress, she may fall in lova with someone in group, etc..). Maybe even some sort or reward, other than the simple joy of completing interestin quests.

Oh and there should be either lots of them, or they should be extremely rare, so you won't see them all in one game..

Since when are the Nords Celtic? And since when did the Celts use Gladii?

Who said they are real life nordic or celtic? I mean this *is* after all a fantasy setting, based on realistic facts, but I don't rember reading about Calradia or Swadians of Vaegirs or Ker.. you get the point...
