I suppose that's good advice but it misses the point. When recruiting troops I want the right troops and if the villages that I've been working to improve relations with so I can get more troops from them start giving me the wrong kind of troops it kind of defeats the effort.

Plus I am used to just automatically accepting whatever troops they offer without actually taking the time to look at what they are giving me. Now I have to actually read something and this slows the game down a bit.
 
You can always use TweakMB (found I believe in the utilities section) to change how villages give troops based on their relation with you. I think in the section dealing with villages that you can force it to only give you bottom tier troops.

Hum I want to add my 2$ here , even though I do know that from what I read that nothing will be added further to the Native Expansion (but we can still hope) and if they don't , well they could use the ideas for WarBand (though I don't have it yet and don't know much about it either  ) .

Actually , one of the ideas that I loved and that was added in the Native Expansion is that you can declare wars on any faction you want . It is really great , right now I have 4 factions going after me and the only thing between the land of Khan and me , are the Swadain . Poor blue faction lol they are stuck in the middle .

But what I would have loved to be added to that option *declare war on a faction * . Is that you ask a faction with whome you are ally like I'm right now *with the Swadian* . And tell them to make peace with X faction .

Why? Let see , right now I have 2 armies . The khan have 10 armies , the Vegis have 4 armies , and that other one has 2 armies . The swadian have 2 armies too . And since Queen Katilus has a hot temper she is at war with everyone but me . And I choose her to be my ally . The thing is , since she is at war with everyone but me , she is starting to lose towns and castles and Vassals . Now if I had an option to ask her to make peace with X faction it will give her time to build up her strenght . I'm sure they are supposed to make peace sometimes (just a guess cose so far it is war and war since I started) .

But since I don't have that option , and for some odd reasons she didn't make peace so far with none but me , and yet even though she is losing territory and vassals and castles no peace agreement so far . It become a pain when you have to bail her out , so far I have been sending my troops every time one of her castle is under siege . And I don't even get some credit for it . Usually if you help a friend faction caravan for exemple , in a battle you get a message that say you gain X renow with said faction . But when it come to castles or town ? I get nothing . And yet , I just crushed a whole army of yellow faction while the said castle had no vassale to protect it .

So yes , I wish we had this option to ask or beg your ally faction to make peace with X faction for some time . I got offered a peace treaty but she didn't .

hum Anyone remember those quest where the king or Queen ask you to lend her one of your vassal ? So far Queen Katilus asked me for Xerina , Alyssa and Katrina for a week each and then she gave them back . Well , it would have been nice if you could do the same . I certainly could have used one of her vassal on my side at the beginning when Xerina wouldn't join me cose nobody knew me .

The cattles quest ? I hate that quest , those damn cattles just won't listen and keep going the wrong way . I wish they were just taken out as a quest since it is annoying quest but that's just my opinion  :oops:

Also , it would have been nice if once you did all the upgrade in a Village you could get some happy peoples . I noticed that even if I upgraded a village (and it cost money!) and my relationship with them is high (40) , when you ask them *how is life* . They still complain like you never did anything for them . Life is hard but we must count our blessing .
That's their answer ? I wasted alot of money and they aren't happy  :???:

More books ? That's something I wish was added . Don't misundertand me , I know there is a book merchant that travel around . And I aslo know that there is an upgrade in a castle that will add to the Good merchant some books from time to time ( even though I didn't see it yet , being built as we speak) . But I found that the merchant didn't have many books to begin with . I brought them all , and use them all (100%) and sold them back . And he got nothing new and he keep running around taverns . I wish he had more books........ :sad:

One option I would have loved to have but isn't there , is to be able to barter for the ransom for a vassal . Right now I have at least 4 Khan vassals , 2 of them hate my guts . The Khan king keep asking to buy their freedom , and these 2 keep asking for a honorable fight in exchange of their freedom if they wins . It would have been nice (and evil :twisted:) to be able to negociate how much money they are worth to the kingdom of Khan . I mean if he really want them back , he should give me lot of money if he want to see those 2 again . I understand that the game has limitation but I wonder...if this is possible . Cose right now , he keep asking for them but doesn't offer much money for them....guess they aren't worth that much for him :razz:

Ohh wich remind me , it would have been nice if you could offer to buy a vassal or be asked by an ally faction if you could buy a vassal from an ennemy faction  for them and they will pay you back (if they don't have that said money)  . I even infiltrated once X faction cose they took a swadian ally vassal to prison . I went in there , bribed my way in hoping the vassal will ask me to help him . But he just said he was in prison and there were no option to either give him money so he could buy his freedom (he could borrow and Queen Katilus can repay you later ) , or the option to negociate with the Khan to buy him from them . You lose money doing so but you should gain renow and honor for such action from the Swadian . And the vassal that is being released should like you more.....but such options don't exist . :sad:

I don't understand how the wage work , I know you have to pay for your troops on your side . That is clear , but do you have to pay for the troops of your vassals ? and what about the one in each castles ?

There is one quest , which I found that you shouldn't have to do if you are a king or Queen of a kingdom . I mean , did anyone hear about a king or Queen that had a hobbie beside running his kingdom to take on side job as protector of merchant caravanes?
I think a King or a Queen would be too busy to do quest like that . But then the Quest are there of course . My idea is the following :

You should be able to do this quest until you become a king or Queen . Once you have your own kingdom you should be too busy (or think it is beneath you to do such quest) . But since the Quest is there someone has to do it right ? Well ,  what about having this  following Option :

Guild MAster : I'm sending a caravan to X Town , and I need someone to make sure they make it there safetly .
You : I would love to help , but right now I can't . But I can send my X Vassals with your caravan to make sure they made it there in one piece .

So on one side you get renow/honor or watever it give you (because you are helping him and even if you are busy like hell , you are kind enough to offer one of your vessel for the job) . But if you get money for this quest , YOUR Vassal should keep the money since she/he is the one doing all the work .  Just an idea  :oops:

In my other post (in Bug Report) I belive I mentioned something about the J button not working for me . In Native Expansion I believe you added formation , like flank , wedge and other stuff .

For me it doesn't work , maybe it is the game or the version I'm using (patch 1.011 , NE v.584) . In any case , for me even if they worked I wouldn't care to use them . Cose I just don't...
BUT there is an option if it were there , I would have used since it is useful for me .
But this option isn't there , and I'm not sure if such option can be made and added .

The option in question would be instead of having your troop going in a *wedge* formation since for some odd reason *for me* my stupid cavalry keep getting in my way and bumping in me at every turn . (I'm suspecting that this problem may come from the fact that I have too much cavalry and little infantry) . So instead of that , it would have been nice if you had an option to direct your troop say in the attack like for exemple instead of Form a triangle , cavalry attack ennemy infantry . Archer fire on the ennemy cavalry...and so on . At least for me , I would love to have such option since I hate that my cavalry just run off and I end up having to protect the handful infantry that I have .

But you gotta give it to this game , even if it isn't perfect it make you work your ass off and that make it a great game  :cool:

There is an option that doesn't exist in the game . But for my style of playing , it should have been there but it isn't there .

No matter the game (mostly RPG Games) , I always and will always play a goody-two-shoes . And in this game , you can loot villages and burn them . In any other RPG game , such action would have been fast labeled *EVIL* . And yet , even if I will never do such a thing loot a village and burn it . Cose one morally it is wrong (even if it is a game , your morale ethic doesn't go into coma when you play a game unless you ask it to) , 2 I plan on taking that village for myself and I suspect burning it now will just make that village very poor and you will have to work to get it rich . So why bother burning it ? if I'm pissed at some lord I go and kick his ass . Taking it on the village he own doesn't do me any good . Oh sure it may piss him off , but beating him on the field and crushing his armie do that just the same and it is more fun  :mrgreen:

And yet , your vassales are computers made and they do loot and burn villages of the ennemies . And that's something I wish I had an option to stop them . I would never ask them to go Raid next to X Faction . But if I tell them that I don't need them and they can do watever they wish . Well , it seem also mean they can go loot . Now I want to run a fair kingdom , but when my vassal start looting it look bad . And it will add to my chores later when I take that said village for myself ......

Sure I could just give them the looted village as punishement like , you burned this place...it is yours . Now you fix it and it better become a rich place ! :razz: but where is the fun in that ? I like to be busy and upgrade villages and once I can't upgrade anymore then I give them to my vassal .

There is an option in the game , once you are inside your castle (like in the Lords Hall) and if you speak to one of the two guard standing there . You can say ''Guards! Arrest this man at once '' . Now so far , I didn't try it when another faction vassal was there . But there was a lady there and it didn't do anything . So does it do anything ? I mean , can you arrest a vassal from another faction ?

If some of you played Civilization 2 , you probably remember that annoying option where you can hire diplomat and later Spy to steal/destroy/start a revolution .  :twisted:Yes annoying cose the ennemie use it too much but fun when I'm behind in technologie lol

Now in this game (hum not sure if this quest was added by NE or it was already there) , there is a quest that the Queen (Katilus) ask you to do . It regard a spy she has in some town , and you have to say a special sentance and hear a special answer and then you get the infos she need from the said spy .
Wouldn't have been nice if you could do the same ? implant spy , then infiltrate and gather the infos for yourself ?
What kind of infos ? true once you complete the quest nobody tell you what kind of info the Queen got from her spy . So what kind of infos you would need ?
Well for once , you could get infos on what kind of troops they have (then again holding your mouse over a castle tell you what kind of troops are in there ) . You could get infos on which vessal is caotured and where . Where X Ennemy Vassal of said town (where you planted the spy) is going to attack next . Just an idea of course  :wink:

I dont know if anyone has suggested this yet but here are my suggestions

it would be cool to have more titles currently you can only be a mercenery,vassal and a king.
having titles like Towns watch commander where you would be in charge of the town defenses, kepping the peace within the walls forming patrols, oversee the garrison, supplies etc this job could be given to you by the town´s guildmaster.

or
spymaster where you would be in charge of sending spies or go on a sabotage mission.

 
Hello everyone...

What about having events depending on what buildings there are on a specific village or town if the player owns them
(or even for the current owner, whether player or ai)

i have in mind something in the lines of these:
if you can recruit elites in your city, there is a chance that a lord will offer you money to buy them from you..
or if you have a refinery in your village, a caravan could bring the ale to a city, generating money and prosperity (thus sometimes caravans could go from a village to a city)
or even that the prisoners in your city can revolt if you don't have a dungeon.. then you can subdue them, killing some in the process (with help from some of your guards?).. but also some could manage to escape in the chaos...

these could happen once in a while, taken semi-randomly from a pool of events depending on which buildings exist (or don't exist) at the city or village.. even the prosperity or garrison or a siege might change this pool..
and the player (and the ai lords too) would deal with the event if they visited the city/village in time.. or feel the consequences of not doing so.

Also a messengers post or a spymaster could affect the consequences, prevent some bad events or warn the player in time..

How do you like the idea (is it also moddable)?
