Suggestions for a new computer

This is not for me, but for my parents/sister since our 9 year old computer is having lots of issues lately (unsurprisingly). My father called me today saying that they were going to buy a new one soon, and sent me two links to ones from Best Buy that he had in mind, but one is a bit dated, and the other one has too much stuff that they don't need on it spec wise/its overpriced. I have no experience with building computers, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask you all for advice on what parts would be best for this.

Uses General internet browsing, light gaming (integrated cards work fine), lots of Word/Powerpoint/Excel usage. They also want something with Windows 7 and that will last for a while.

Look for parts something like this. Recently got my grandma a very similar system, it performs very well even in Warband or Minecraft.

That is one that my father was looking at, though I was uncertain about the processor on it performs. I mean, the Pentium IV we are upgrading from was able to run Warband and Minecraft well; how much better is this one?

It's better in just about every way. There's a considerably number of improvements that have happened since the Pentium 4 time.

I can't put my finger on exactly what you'd experience in improvement as I've never had a Pentium 4 machine.
