[Suggestion] Walk button & Class restrictions

Walk button
So I suggest there should be a walk button implemented into the game. Not only is it a standard to have it in games but it would greatly increase the ability for groups of players to stay together when marching. E.G: The first row walk with thier shields up, and people behind can catch up to them if they fall behind. Its a simple thing to put in the game and I dont so why not.


Class restrictions
I suggest there should be an option to put class restrictions on a server so that not a whole team goes archers/crossbows. E.G: You can put 50% infantry, 20% horsemen and 30% archers. I think this will be really good on regular public server to ensure a balanced and fun for all experience while playing.

2) Seems like too much of a arbitrary limit, the game needs to be balanced so that a mix of classes is necessary to do well instead of simply forcing people to pick certain classes.

Well I said it was an option so...
But I think it could really work on pubs, especially the town map

Uhm, well. Take the Town map, too often there is like 80% of the team is archers/crossbows on the roofs. So this would fix that. Though maybe this should be a map options so you can turn it off, on and change it for each map.
 
The easy solution to too many archers on roofs is to
A)Fix the superjump.
B)Fix falling damage.  If a roof traps the archer he won't be so quick to go up there.  At the very least the two story fall should take a lot of health.

I dont nessicarily mean those kind of roofs but yea, those too :razz:
 
The roofs in the village map aren't exactly great shooting spots for archers anyway.
 
i myself suggested the walk button couple of times,
i think it is very essential.

Nope, that's worthless. Without a walk button, the players with less equipment run faster than those with heavy equipment, and then the formation gets all broken to **** whenever they try to move ahead. A walk button that remains at the same speed regardless of equipment would be perfect.

to be honest, thats a moot point for 2 reasons

1) Its not hard to stay near your buddies, regardless of what equip you have or they lack (armor included folks)
2) Formations aren't really effective in warband's multiplayer. If you stick together, you can be a giant blob of people against a perfectly lined up colonial british army style formation, and it won't make scat-difference. Formations start to count when you have a battle of hundreds of people, not a battle of 10v10

Sure you may not see the point, but dont you agree that something this easy to implenent should be in the game? You dont have to use it if you dont want to, its obvius other people seem this is a good thing to implement. :smile:
 
Formations don't need to be perfect, but they are useful to put more blades on targets at once. I'd like to see walk very badly. It shouldn't be hard to implement, since obviously NPCs walk, so why not?

Yes to Class restrictions maybe even fore some weapons they be more rare then
