I will just quote myself from this thread: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,63659.0.html

I would really love to see this http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/ in the expansion since i love fighting in first-person.
the problem with first-person view is that the field of view is very small, so it is
difficult to keep an overview over the battle. I would love to stand in a shieldwall
with my shield up and still be able to look to the flanks.
It shouldn`t be to difficult to implement this, since there is already a freelook (when standing still and not readying a weapon or shield).
So what do you guys think about it?

That would be a nice-to-have for all of the like four Warband players that also have this gadget at home. I'm a little sceptical of those alternative input devices, I once owned a helmet that basically did the same thing like TrackIR. It was crap. Honestly ... moving your head to change your viewport without a screen that moves with your head is UBER-annoying - you have to look out of the corner of your eye.
If the devs will think about it at all, it will be lowest priority.

EDIT: If they implement such toys, I want to brandish my axe with this one: http://www.vrealities.com/P5.html

I find this very usefull in games like Arma II or other games of this type.
it is better to keep looking for the cav that otherwise is stabbing you in the back
I put the "look at your outfit" key on the alt-key and that is already helping, but still,
the less keys to press, the better!

you can adjust the values for this. you only move your head a little and the ingame-head moves a lot, so this is not really a problem.

Isn't it ridiculously expensive and wouldn't it be used by only an awfully small amount of players? No I don't think the devs should bother implementing this (not even sure it's easy anyway).

its about the same as some people spend for a gaming-mouse or speakers or whatever.
I think (but don`t know) implementing should be quiet easy, as you already can look around pressing
the "tilde" key or where ever you put it. It really helps fighting in first person, and thats the view i like the
most, because of the better timing i have then.

Yes vote from me. It would be the most brilliant thing ever even though most player probably wouldn't use it.

I've got a TIR5, and while I'd love to use it in M&B, I don't think it's a priority or should be for a long time. Maybe a couple versions before release, just enough time to iron out the bugs it might bring.
