good idea, but what about us coat of plates users?

and as a side note, horned helmets were used extensibly by teutonic knights

This is an awesome idea! I have been wanting this since I first picked up the game 3 years ago. I just can't until TaleWorlds will implement this into the game.

As long as people keep replying this amazing idea might have a chance to be seen and even realized!

Seems like a great idea. I think if this is done, then not only should you be able to edit, but it would be nice if you could design your own.  Although I am guessing that is what you are suggesting.  I just know that I would love to make my own families crest in the game for my self,  three silver Gryphon's heads on a red background. Along with this heraldic editor, could you not also be allowed to make mottoes as well?  Perhaps even incorporate a Latin translator, so that you may design you motto in your native language and then have it made into Latin like all family mottoes were back then?

which of those mottos do you mean?

Carpe Jugulum is the name of the book as well as the family motto of Count Magpyre

I am not 100% certain, but is Fabricati diem, pvnc from Feet of Clay? (I haven't read Jingo but I have seen that in a Pratchett)

I meant both quotes. Or rather, I meant that it not only was a Dirty Harry reference, it was a Pratchett quote as well, just as the Carpe Jugulum one. "Fabricati diem, pvnc" could well be from Feet of Clay. Just sure it's a Watch book.

I would like to see a heraldic editor, especially since we are now stuck with banners that are already being used by the other lords of Calradia

it's definitely a watch book. it's Vimes that says it.
I thought it was feet of clay because that has all the heraldic stuff, but it could easily be one of the earlier watch books. I seem to remember that he is holding a small swamp dragon, who may or may not have run out of combustible gasses.

Unless someone just goes ahead and tries to make something like this, I doubt it will ever be implemented, but I would still like to see it in the game.

Even if they never implement this in Warband, there's a good chance they'll implement it in the next sequel (if one is made). So keep hoping.
