[Suggestion] Parrying Animation

First of all, great extension( a real drug)  ! continue the hardwork ! If you maintaine this level of quality just for an extansion, i cant imagine what will be MB II !!!

Second, i dont understand why in the 0.671 the parrying do not exist anymore ? I feel like it was a plus and the animation was fluider than the classic -and static - block. Remove it make the game less realistic. Yes i know parrying is hard but it's something players can learn. Last but not least it make the combat definitly beautiful.

Third. Maybe im wrong but i have the strange feeling that the combinaison between spear and footkick is very powerfull - maybe too...

ps: english is not my maternal language so sorry for errors ...

Yeah, I'm also interested what happened to parry animations, they were pretty good.

Yeah, I'm also interested what happened to parry animations, they were pretty good.

Perhaps it was cause it conflicted with the normal bloquing. But then I have a suggestion for that: change the button.

Instead of a short click of the right mouse button, why not clicking right and left at the same time?
 
yeah it seem to me a good solution but i dont feel there was a conflict between parrying and blocking in 0.660 version

Afaik, parrying has not been removed, only the animations for it, probably to avoid onehanders getting an advantage when feinting (the parry anims in between can work quite confusing). Perhaps they will be re-introduced when there are also anims for 2handers and polearms? But perhaps they were simply found too confusing or not adequate. I don't know, I liked them, but I can understand this.
 
i agree it was a little confusing but the visual effect was great (i remember great duels ! whe the oponent provocate me with up parrying, it was like "come on come on" ; nice !) + if you parry all the time you can be beat at your own game if the enemy attack whith a trust at the end of the parrying. So parrying do not destroy the key element of fight : timing .

You do forget that parrying was simple as hell in .660 (with a window of... a second or so, way too long), and it's even easier in .670 due to the instant blocking (which is a good thing). It should be harder to parry, but easier to block, so a shorter parry window combined with lower combat speed would be nice imo.
 
I totaly agree with you, but my first préoccupation is not the balancing of the parrying but the fact that the animation disepear in 0.670. IMO it removes some fluidity in combat a little too static (despite the great progress accomplished with warband)
