[Suggestion] minimise usable weapons on battlefield

add some damaged weapon on battlefield, ore minimise usable weapons

minimise usable  weapons on battlefield
Some times you don't really need to buy that great weapon! You will find it in the big free store called battleground.

basically i think it would be good to minimise the weapons one the battlefield that can be picked up.
some would be destroyed ore more damaged not all but random weapons..

it would be the most fragile weapons.
Like arrows
bolt, spears, lances and perhaps some sword.




 
I would make it like every faction has a unique unlootable set of items.

Swadia: Great Lances / 2H swords

Rhodoks: Glaive / Hammers

Vaegir: Warbow / Axes

Nords: Throwing Axes / Huscarl Shield

Khergit: none, doesn't matter because no one will loot khergit

Sarranid: Cavalry/Guard swords, Jarids
 
Weapon looting adds more to the game in my mind. I like the fact if I kill a guy when a better weapon then me, I can keep it as a prize, until I die. Maybe after picked up and used once by the non buyer it becomes unlootable. I am in the camp of even being able to strip armor once from the non buyer.  But that should take a little bit go put on. Like maybe a 10 sec delay.
 
No. The big free store is also a store that takes back its good as soon as you ****ing die. I'd rather give **** a 50% chance of being pick-uppable instead of imposing an odd "unique" limitation. WIth the limitation it's less likely that you find what you need, ergo: You're more likely to have to buy it especially if there're more people who want it around.

Or put a delay on stuff to pick up.
 
Why would you impose a limit on picking up items from the battlefield? You buy the weapon, it's yours until you die, after that it's fair play for anyone who wants to take it. You can't just put a "unique item" flag on certain things and deny everyone else the loot. If your hard earned money goes to some opportunist it's your own damn fault.

I admit that sometimes in TDM or something I just spawn without weapons and scavenge, but I prefer to call that "resourcefulness".

If I can decipher this I think he's actually saying that things like free spears and arrows would be unuseable if you found them. I disagree. It might be realistic but it can be handy to pull that arrow out of the wall for the last shot.
 
How about making weapons that are dropped to the ground taking the 'chipped' or 'cracked' modifier, like they sometimes get in single-player. Then you could still pick them up and use them, but they'd be less useful than if you had bought them yourself, but would still work for you in a pinch, or give you capabilities (hammer knockdown, e.g.) that you couldn't get by purchasing weapons.

I am sorry for my bad English.
Well i don't mean all weapons you pick up from the battlefield.
Just some % off the weapon that you pick up.
Would be damaged.

It's just feels so silly to be able to pick up so many new weapon.
Despite Cavalry and soldiers ruining all over the battlefield.

Bolts would stick in the ground so hard it would be impossible to pull them out.
Arrows would be hard to find and are very fragile.
Spears and javelins would probably be damaged. 
 
 
But what would two opposing archers do if they couldn't just pick up their enemies missed shots and fire them back?
Leave this aspect alone.
 
I voted no.

Just decrease proficiencies for the weapons a class should not be using.

For example archer proficiencies in polarms, 2h and shield skill needs to be lower.


 
damn it i voted yes by accident :sad:  its a dumb idea.... maybe it would be useful if the weapons could break ... like if a 2hand axe hits overhead to a blocking pole arm overhead and it breaks... but if not then its for nothing just to make you a better player.

They fight :roll:? Archery feels like you shoot a 20pound bow arrows stick slow in the ground. and yet they do not get stuck in the ground.
You have possible to take 60arrows whit you. You should not count on the battlefields arrows.

In M&b Native you can pick up weapons but not all.
In Warband you have to many weapons you can pick up. This feels like you fighting in a weapon store.
Finding that Great 2h sword is not really fun when it's 5 of same type next to you.

About shields i don't really need to take care off my shield when it lying 5 other good shield around me.
When some one die the shield would be strapped on making it hard to pick it up!!

 
Personally i never buy shields  :grin:
It feels more like an action movie (Kingdom of heaven for example)

- When i run around with a bastard sword and no shield, see an archer, pick up a shield go towards him, drop it, kill the guy go on.

- Fighting with sword and shield than your shield breaks? Manual block, kick the enemy to buy some time, meanwhile pick up a shield from a dead guy. Intense!!!

- Someone is throwing javelins or throwing axes at me, i pick one off the ground and throw it right back at them  :grin:

- I get dehorsed, i throw my lance away (too much weight) pull out the sword and go fight. If i find another horse i ride back to the spot for my old lance, or go find a new lance.



It makes the game so much more intense and realistic at the same time! Why take it away?
Don't limit weapon pickups under any circumstances!!!
 
I am against it, it's fine as it is, i wan't to be able to pick up weapons of the enemy like long axes or cleavers...
 
I too cast my vote for "leave it". Welcome_to_hell illustrates the fun bit of it, and I'd just like to also point out that sometimes it's the only defense one has. Stuck with a scimitar/noshield against 2 longaxe users? Grab a longaxe, go to town.


Also, sometimes it's just such sweet justice to pick up a lolaxe/lolhammer/lolwhatever and crush the skull of that guy that's been annoying you with same all match. :grin:
 
Well remember i don't think all pickable should go just minimise it a bit.
Currently we have 4 slots soldiers ruining around look like Swiss Army knife's.

In one round i have probably tested the most weapons :???:

This is the medieval we should not get drowned by weapons.
Good weapons should be hard to get.
