SP - General Suggestion - Make endgame better (less grind) - Less recruits in villages and towns

Users who are viewing this thread

As we all know late middle game and endgame can get very stale and grindy as the wars are being declared every 10 minutes and lords are recruiting armies at a very quick speed, making wars and basically gameplay just a "catch 'em and club 'em" game. Defeating enemy lords and even armies is meaningless, except in the grind sense.
IMO a very simple solution to this is to reduce the number of available recruits in towns and villages. This will make armies and soldiers much more valuable, decision to go to wars will be made much harder and defeating an enemy army will actually have some effect on the game.

Not even less of them but just slow down the rate at which they regenerate. Then boost the militia numbers so one bad field defeat doesn't make a faction lose forever.

Maybe that and adding in some sort of longer treaty system will make things a little more spaces out.

All that it would need then is more peacetime content to give you things to do.

As always, some small systemic changes can greatly improve the game experience.

Less recruits (just increase the relationship needed with recruiters to recruit, and make it work on AI lords too), longer treaties (better diplomacy) and more purpose to peacetime and we got ourselves a solid game. It would likely reduce the pace of the game, but i see no problem.there
