[SUGGESTION] Longer preparation/ Text brightness

The titles says much.

When you start a game, you are given 3 seconds to prepare yourself, and if you can't do it in 3 seconds, you don't get what you bought. You only get it in the following round.

This makes it impossible for the survivors in the round before to prepare themselves for the next (since they got more money and can get better equipment)

So why not make the period a bit longer?

As for the text, I don't really know if it's because of the brightness or the time it lasts. It makes it difficult to read.
I'm thinking that a brighter text would be easier to read. And if it lasted a bit longer on the screen, even better.

Just my 2 denars.

Yes, I was just thinking of posting about this. A longer prep time would be ideal. It would also give everyone a longer time to talk about strategy.

As for the chat text, I just think it fades too quickly.

As long as you have the equipment window open it shouldn't spawn you

I think 8-10 seconds would be adequate. It would also allow for the people with slower computers to load in time for the first battle

If you take too long, it won't spawn you in battle mode for that round. Would be nice to see what the cut-off time is.

I agree on both. Preparations should be longer or at least timer should be clearly visible.

As for the text, it needs to be brightened up a lot. Font could be a little smaller too. Also there should be a combination of keys that will bring up all text messages that were send.

So choose quicker, accept the defaults and fiddle with your equipment after you spawn, or use the round you haven't spawned to check out the enemy and adjust equipment accordingly. The problem with extending setup time is it's increasing finger twiddling time for those already playing.

I'm pretty sure that even the ADD riddled children of teh interwebz could stand another 5 seconds before a brand new round starts

I don't mind the current system, but all I'd like to see is a timer for those who have the equipment menu up, displaying when they will forego the round.

Well, it would help probably if I didn't have to reconnect to the server every map change. Anyway, your comment has nothing to do with what I was saying. I was talking about displaying the cut-off time that already exists. I said nothing about extending the time.

I second this. Fast battle start is okay, but 3 seconds gives me no chance to prepare for the next battle.
I just started and I was either not prepared or did not participate in the next round. It is very confusing.

Besides that, the game is not hyper-fast paced, especially if you are a footman... so 10 seconds finger-twiddling should not be TOO long for anyone.

Still, the whole equipment screen should be re-done.
It is transparent and very hard to read, I do not think a brighter text will be the solution but a solid background/text contrast instead of a totally transparent equipment screen with greyish text.

My solution/suggestion:
Black/dark semi-transparent background and white or yellow text.

I 67th this,  both things bother me.

I think doubling the preparation time would do it, so you don't have to be changing you gear in the middle of a battle or die early to do so. Sometimes I have to hide in order to choose my first equipment to avoid being killed, that is unnecessary and should be an easy fix.

Also a chat before battle would be great, so people can do some plans while others choose the gear.

A timer would be ideal also.

And text could be made smaller and brighter yes, or just last a bit longer.

I agree, longer time for preparations is a good idea. Plus, you can expect a lot of whining from the new players if you keep it this way since they will need LONG time to pick their gear, being new and all.

I thought the chat was hard to read.

After playing for a while, I discover this is in fact a blessing. Keep it as is - easier to ignore.
