Got an idea here right for game release. A lot of players agree that jumping isn't something that MnB really needs and climbing could be much better. But we all know that right now this is pretty much impossible to do, games with climbing in it require a helluwalotta work for implementing it. so I thought... what about hopping? Change spacebar/other_assigned_key to something like "strafe modifier": you hold spacebar and WASD keys will force character to hop in 4 main directions for a 1-1.5m long or so. Some sort of afterjump cooldown still required, but not as long as for jumping right now.
Pros:
1) Bye-bye jumpers.
2) Sidestepping might introduce new tactics in both defence and offence + some people want to see sidestepping in MnB.
Cons:
1) Hello sidesteppers. Though I don't see it as a real problem.
2) Fences might be the problem. But here's something: holding spacebar for 2 seconds should give player the ability to jump like right now and only forward, but this charging will be able to prevent anti-cavalry abusing and such. On the other hand: who cares about fences anyway? I dont think that medieval fighters have a time to climb them in a middle of a fight.
