I dunno...my timing for it is all off now.  It seems your crosshairs have to be right on target to hit.  No more lead at all.  Saw lots and lots of arrows just go right through people...literally.  It is definitely nerfed.  You guys got what you wished for.

Riding skill lowered? What's the use of this? It was already very difficult not to get hit by lancers. HA have only basic horse as is. I saw when people were testing, and Khergits with a mixed force (or mainly HA's) vs some faction with only lancers - khergits lose. Their HA might dodge one lancer if it's one on one, but in group fights lancers take out HA. HA needs to shoot a lancer at least like 3x, and even then it might be just horse. Lancer touches HA once and that's it.


Seriously, HA riding capabilities are a joke. I might as well go foot archer if enemy has any lancers, because I'll be protected more by buildings and obstacles than I will with the horse.
 
Use the manuverability to avoid lancers.  It was unfair before when HA's could buy coursers and were the fastest unit in the game.  This change gives enemy lancers a chance to counter in open maps.  Still I honestly hope they don't nerf HA's anymore.  Its not like khergits have a lot of tactical options.  I think they have two.  Stand back and shoot or rush early and disrupt.  I still stand by my opinion that the lack of cover on some spawns was the problem.

Yes, but it's a long time since they can only buy Steppe horses.

Have you ever fought with your khergits as HA vs mass of enemy lancers? I assume not, because you wouldn't say "use the manuverability to avoid lancers". You're using that to avoid one, then the other rushes from the left, and as you dodge him the third just passes near you, touches you with a lance, and you're dead. 3 seconds later, they use their manuverability and much faster speed, to kill your teammate, and then 3 seconds later your other teammate is dead too.

Of course, if someone shows me what server to go to, to see how HA's are supposed to play against lancers, I'll correct my statement. Until then, from what I saw, khergits have no chance whatsoever.


On the other hand, reducing horse archery skill might be good. I didn't test it yet.

I agree with what some others said - first, there need to be some changes to horses in general - fall damage and such. With fall damage, horses can also be made more realistic and not too weak or something like that.
 
I've never experienced what you're talking about Yoshi.

In my experience, lancers are by far the easiest prey for horse archers (except possibly melee people without shields or throwing weapons).

You can take out most horses with just 2-3 arrows... well before they're anywhere near you -  plus with the lower damage of lances, it'll usually take them a good 2 hits to kill you, unless you ride straight into them at full speed.
