Suggestion for Horses

First of all, I think the mounted aspect of this game is absolutely superb! I do have one suggestion that I think may add a little bit to the gameplay, as well as looking cool. That would be rearing the horse back, so it kind of goes back on it's hind legs, as a means of stopping the horse quickly in order to deliver a hacking attack the head of a nearby foot soldier. Mainly I just get bothered (and someone actually mentioned this in an earlier thread i think...) when I'm right about to decapitate one of those pesky crossbowmen and they shoot me right then, so I lose the attack, and I can't slow down fast enough to get another attack off, so I ride right by and the shoot me again. So think of this as an emergency brake for the horse... you don't want to do it when you're going too fast, or else you might hurt the horse, but at slow to moderate speeds, it's a flashy and effective way of getting up close and personal with a footman you might otherwise miss. Again, this isn't high priority... the horses are already great... but it could be cool:smile: thanks

That's kind of a bug really. It's left over from the times I beta-tested rearing.
I think I found another "left-over": when I press F4 it delivers "0 damage" to enemies but interrupt their attacks.
Edit: And when I press F5 my fighter is controlled by the IA.

Well, i think it could be left as it is, the "R" key used for rearing horses... in fact, if i am not completely mistaken, knights did know how to rear horses when they saw it fit

Well, it's not cheating, (you will not gain any unfair benefits from it) and is nice 'atmospheric' element. I vote for leaving it in the game + adding to the key list.
Better take out F4 .

I thought it should maybe deal some damage to troops in front of you - not masses of it, and a rear takes so long to complete that it's not an effective way of fighting, but wouldn't you be hurtin' if a horse thrashed its hooves in your face?
