They are good infantry right now, even though they still have the slowest weapons compared to other factions.

Everyone knows that the Sergeants emphasizes on polearms and they really should in my opinion, but some other weapons than the stabbing spears, slow hammers and mediocre picks would be nice. Here are my suggestions to make Rhodok infantry in my eyes complete:
  • In Vanilla they have always had swords, the short sword would fit in nicely for them
  • The glaive is their only long range slashing weapon (hammers range is bad) and very expensive, Rhodoks should be the best at keeping the enemy at bay with polearms, I suggest the give them scythes as cheap variant of the glaive.
  • The morningstar is very slow, but the damage isn't that good and even though it is heavy it doesn't crush blocks. A damage increase would be nice, or allow them to crush blocks.
  • The falchion was a weapon used by the Rhodoks in Vanilla and it still fits with their ragged outfit. If they can't get other swords, at least give this one.
  • Their armour is the worst of all factions, while their crossbowmen and sergeants were very well armoured in vanilla. Their banner is a bear and they have slow hammers, the role of slow tanks would fit them. I would suggest making their Mail and Surcoat (only 43 protection) armour cheaper, as 1800something is way too much.
  • Their armour would need some more improvements, I would like to see the Byrnie added to both the crossbowmen and sergeants, or at least a mail variant with nearly the same cost and protection.
  • The scale armour from the SP beta, see pic, as their Sergeants strongest armour would be very nice and fitting.

Vaegirs:
  • The Nords used to have only 2 helmets as well, but their helmet choice got expanded finally. Now we want the same for the Vaegirs.
  • The scimitar should be available for the Vaegir Spearmen.
  • Vaegir guards used to have war forks, being Spearmen, it would fit them.
  • An armour similar to the leather jerkin, but more nomadic, should replace the leather jerkin, to give them more unique armour.
  • Give them longer reach maces.

Khergits:
  • Give them longer slashing weapons, including longer maces and axes.
  • Give them a discount on horses (allowing them to buy better armour)

Nords and Swadians are fine in my opinion.

Agreed with all but the morningstar. It is fairly fast with this new patch and until its invisible reach is fixed its probably even overpowered a bit.

Forgot the falchion, oops, editting.

It's not really that fast, but ya the invisible reach needs a fix.

*Give them Arming swords, not short swords.
*No to scythes; give it to vaegirs/khergits.
yeah...
Arming short swords it is than?
But they really need a cheaper two-handed slashing weapon than the glaive. A scythe would be nice, but other slashing polearms (Halberd or something) would be nice too.

Short Arming Sword.

Anyway, while that scale armour looks awesome, the surcoats over mail look heavier, especially arm-protection wise. If this armor'd get mail over the sleeves it'd really be perfect.

If the Rhodoks get any bladed weapon (And I'm not convinced they should), then the falchion would be best. No other faction has it, and it fits their style pretty well.

Rhodoks
*give them falchions (few variants)
*make glavie shorter, but used with 2h grip
*introduce military scythe with 2h grip
*give them another layered cloth armour - mail as top armour seems like a solid choice
*not allowing them faceplate would be good move (those fit swadians better)
*change warhammer and other hammers models - those are unrealistic
*if we want to push it, introduce poleaxe
*give them guisarme
*give them voulge and make it polearm grip

@Ursca - they already have swords, you know - 2 out of 3 classes have them.

What about this new Rhodok Sergeant weapon row?

Falchion:                    30 cutting damage | 96 speed | 2.0 weight |  free |  73 reach | 1 hand

Short sword:                26 cutting damage | 24 piercing damage | 102 speed | 1.5 weight |  150 denar |  85 reach | 1 hand

Heavy Falchion:          32 cutting damage | 94 speed | 2.5 weight | 180 denar |  74 reach | 1 hand

Strong Falchion:          33 cutting damage | 93 speed | 2.7 weight | 300 denar |  75 reach | 1 hand

Great Falchion(new):  38 cutting damage | 91 speed | 3.3 weight | 600 denar |  82 reach | 1 1/2 hand

Keep in mind that the great falchion would be a 1 1/2 weapon, making it worse than the other falchions when used with 1 hand.

Too many kinds of weapons is not always good. So, I propose:
1. No swords for Rhodok infantry/xbows, limit them for cavalry use only. Falchion is enough for infantry, I think. Still, they have one of the best polearms - a glaive, which is one of the deadliest weapons in group melee. So, they should be somewhat limited in 1h weapon combat.
2. Too many falchions. Personally, I think that 2-3 would be enough. Two 1-handed (regular and heavy) and one 1 1/2 or even 2-handed, like that toothed falchion from Maciejowski Bible. It's brutal

And make it 95-99 in length - at least it's as long as 1h swords.
3. Maybe, add one more slashing polearm. Or increase the length of a goedendag to about 100 (and decrease its speed proportionally). However, now the choice of polearms is the best for Rhodoks, so I'm not sure.

Swadians always used the great helm. Faceplate is fine for rhodoks it DOES fit them.

I honestly dont know why the nords get the voulge (did they take it out in this version? i havent played) any other axe is fine, but the voulge would fit rhodoks pretty well.

Poleaxe seems more of a swadian weapon.

And no that scale armor DOES NOT fit rhodoks, if anything it would ok for vaegirs.

Finally even though the vaegirs have the scimitar, i think falchions sort of fit with them. I can see the rhodoks taking it though.

scythes definitely fit in with the rhodok culture. I say strong yes to this.

I do however have issues with the scale mail armor being implemented. I just don't believe it fits

Actually, try playing glaive in group melee and you will see that in *group* melee you will have problems swinging because of your teammates, for instance (alright you can thrust I guess).

scalemail should NOT be for rodoks, it does not suit them.

rodoks should get a rapier
A scalemail doesn't fit, while the dev's made it to fit the full helmet? They obviously changed the style of Rhodoks, it fits them now. Also a rapier DOES fit them? It's totally out of the time period and it's the least fitting weapon the Rhodok could get...

It perfectly fits with the full helmet and kettle helmet. I find it pretty fitting and I'm pretty sure the Rhodok sergeants will get it in SP..

The glaive was beastly when one-handed animations were really slow, but now it takes a lot of finesse to use.  It's one of the slowest polearms, so you can't just swing it wildly.  It's even better this way!

The military scythe (NOT the shortened military scythe) would be nice. It's the same reach as the glaive, does a little less damage but is a tad faster...

I agree, but the Rhodoks already have great polearms.  It's their 1H selection that needs some lovin'.
