[Suggestion] Environment Sounds/FX

One area that I find Warband is badly lacking in at the moment is sound immersion.

At the moment maps are just maps. There is no sound to give any prescence of environment. I propose that there be some addition of sound to the environments on maps. Maybe even adding sound cues to actual models/map features, like adding the sound of rustling leaves near trees, and the sound of rushing water near rivers.

Using field by the river as an example, one could imagine walking up near the river and hearing the sound of rushing water, and as he crosses over to the trees near the bank he would hear the sound of leaves rustling in the wind and maybe even some birds.

I think this is a rather obvious yes for this suggestion. Added graphical or sound effects are always welcome, provided they are of good quality of course. Though I think there are bigger fish to fry.

I would love to see this, provided it's not too much trouble. I was working on effects like thunder attached to lightning strikes for my mod so I don't see why, even with the old module system, this wouldn't be possible.

It should honestly be so easy to do that there's no reason not to just push it to the end of the priority list. Would barely need beta tested. If I can figure it out I'm sure the devs can come up with something even even better right at the end if they feel like it.

I personally have no idea why there weren't any environment sounds added for Mount and Blade when it originally came close to release, especially when sound fx adds so much to the immersion factor.

I just don't want to see this small part of the game (that actually adds a lot to the experience) forgotten.

I'd rather not - because it's more channels to take up horse hoof sounds. I would turn it off as well if it were an option.

That's a whole different issue. The volume and 3d positioning of them are just off. If those were right, environmental sounds would do next to nothing nothing if they were adjusted properly.

Some more immersion is a game is always a plus. I'd love to hear some environmental sounds.
