[Suggestion] Changing Spawns in Battle

An option to alternate (or cycle, if there are enough different spawnpoints) where each faction spawns in Battle. Consistantly getting the bad ground is quite frustrating, and simply alternating which faction starts where would solve that and bring a little more variety to the Battle mode. However I am sure some people prefer the continuity of spawning in the same place each round, so playing half the time one way, and then half the time the other way might work better.

I do understand that the randomisation of the matchups is a major feature of the game, but (on the beta servers at least) Battle games last quite a long time, and spending a lot of that time dead and frustrated simply because your faction is spawning in a bad position is not very enjoyable. I had this a couple of times today, and one time the team did work together and win a couple of rounds, but the other time, despite the fact that we were fairly coordinated, the other side consistantly wiped the floor with us.

A similar option for Siege games would probably help make people trying to attack a Vaegir-held castle feel a little less put-upon.
 
I'm bumbing this. I think you shoud also cycle attackers / defenders in both siege and fight & destroy. Also if people are opposed then maybe a server side option? Score should also indicate that team wins A: attacking D: defending.
 
I agree, most of the matches would become less boring. If I remember it has been suggested before.
 
Hell yes! Server side option is always plus, but either way I'd love to see this added.

Spawns should swap in every single mode each round, so that for example people stacking to defending team in siege will attack once they win or lose the defence and vice versa.
 
A halftime swap would be my prefered option but either way this needs to happen.  Snowy village has one of the most unbalanced setups.  God help you if you are fighting khergits on the barren hill.
 
Yes... I always wandered why one team in Village map is spawning near building outside the village, when near the front gate is a nice palisade...
Randomize team spawn will be awesome!
 
Some time-attack in Siege could be fun.

Also yeah, halftime switch would rock, and make maps drag on a little less.
 
Great suggestion. I would also add that for CTF (with no rounds) teams could swap positions every x minutes (where x is decided serverside), or just at halftime.
 
Another option is to have 'mirror maps' where both sides are equal. I don't want to see all maps like this, for sure, but a reflection on either side for CTF style games would be a good thing.

You know, I'd also like modes to have some sort of overall indicator when the map is going to end. Either you play until a certain score is reached, or if it is on a time limit, there is a count down timer somewhere to let you know the game is about to be over.

Waiting until the current round is over before a swap is also a good idea :smile:

But yeah I like the idea of a half time swap. If it is on a timer, at half time, wait until the current round is over, the swap. On a score system, when you reach the half way point towards the victory, swap.
