[Suggestion] Buff Morningstar

Morningstar is currently a useless weapon on Rhodoks. It does 29p, which is two more points than military pick, but it is however, far more slow and weighs a lot more.

I suggest lowering it's weight to 4.0 and increasing the damage to 35p. I think that would be a reasonable buff considering it is so slow it is not viable in most situations.

I would like a new model, so it's longer and it can be used as a horseman weapon. The current model is a bit...brown. But I agree it needs some buff, buying it is a waste.

I find that it is already useable as a horseman weapon (if it was available for horsemen), tt just slows down infantry too much and doesn't do enough damage to justify it's slow attack speed.

Oh yes please. Increase it's length and damage, and then I can see it being balanced.

Ya, it was fun back in M&B to see the Swadian Knights pounding enemies with Morning Stars. It would be good if they were improved for multiplayer so that they would actually be viable.

Keep its weight the same, just buff its damage.

And the justification for keeping the weight the same?

The reason I think there should be a weight reduction to the morningstar is that it isn't a viable weapon as your main weapon because it is so slow and if your enemy is a nord or vaegir archer (without a shield and with a good sword) you will be at a disadvantage. So you would have to either outskill, sneak up on them or simply luck to be able to kill those archers in melee combat or other infantry with quick weapons. Rhodok shields already weigh more than other faction's shield and the morningstar doesn't have a lot of range, it is near equal to a scimitar in range iirc.

The model needs to be changed to the weapon on the right. The current model is too bulky. I think the morning star should get a slight reduction to weight, a good increase on length (since it was historically a horseman's weapon) and a 3 point increase for damage.

I think the solution for the morningstar is quite simple. Increase its damage a point or two, increase its actual speed rating, and make it a hand-and-a-half type weapon similar to a bastard sword or club with spike. That way when you swing it one-handed it would still be just as slow, but when you drop your shield and use it with two hands it could be lethal.

The solution seems so painfully obvious it's killing me. If I had in my hand a weapon that could deal that much damage but only if I swung it at a snail's pace with one hand, the first thing I'd do is use both hands because it's clear that one isn't enough to get that beast moving.

so make it like every other weapon and remove it's unique 'fighting style'?

Length is fine I think, damage and weight is what concerns me.

If by unique fighting style, you mean worthless, then sure. I don't think I've ever even been hit by a morningstar.

I'm getting the impression that you just want the weight reduced and damage increased so you can run around naked at light speed and smash people in the back with it.

And morningstars are heavy weapons by nature. I used to own one.

Besides, doing with it what I suggested would actually make the weapon more unique. Right now it's little more than a military pick in molasses. There are no hand-and-a-half weapons that swing with piercing damage.

Short sword vs. morningstar....short sword spams...morningstar can't ever do a full swing no matter what the user does. GG

It needs a buff. Honestly, all the Rhodok one-handed weapons need some love.

What's your name in game?

If it was only used by mounted troops, this wouldn't be a problem.

I've used it numerous times mounted and I can say it is one of the worst weapons to use while mounted, or atleast that is what I've found out.  Slow weapons aren't better for mounted combat for some reason.

As already suggested, increasing it's damage to 35 or so should be enough.
It's slow, has OK range - but if you hit someone with it - even if he has armour, it's gonna be painful.
