Being able to do an assassination mission would be pretty awsome. The targets wouldn't be lords though because Calradia might run out of them. I'm not talking about the assassination of the merchant in the previous versions. This target could be a general/captain of some kind. The plot is to assassinate the target before he leaves the town with one shot. Throwing knife or crossbow. If you are compromised you fail the mission and must fight your way out.

belongs in privy council, but I do believe more quests and missions need to be added.

The proper place for this is in the Privy Council, but I would like to make one point:

Prior to the advent of the pistol, assassinations, in the way that many gamers imagine them, are a fantasy convention that had very little in the way of historical precedent.

For pre-gunpowder assassinations, think Julius Caesar. It was an archetypal assassination in that...
1) the victim knew and trusted the assassins
2) the assassination was part of a coup d'etat, in which the seizure of political power (rather than stealth) allowed the assassins to escape
3) the assassination used knives or swords, at close range

if someone were to make a japan mod this could definitly be included. soon after the invention of gunpowder ninjas had learned to use it to kill their victims directly or as a distraction. Also poison was occasionaly used in the west, not sure how it could be added in though

Asassin's Creed did little to help this. :p

But I should point out that there is a pistol in the find an item cheat menu. :p It's horribly inaccurate no matter what your skill is though :p

Was there actually any use of gunpowder like this in the 13th century? when was the first such weapon devised? (Not very well versed in history here)

The first serpentine lock handgonnes are mentioned in literature as early as 1310.  Not exactly concealable weapons though.

The Ismaili sect of Islam (better known as the Assassins) were an actual entity from, I believe (and I'm bad at remembering dates, so forgive me), early 1000s to mid 1200s. The game, though in some parts extremely liberal with history, wasn't so far off that it'd ruin the Assassins for the general public. The Ismailis in reality didn't have much beef with the Crusaders, they weren't supposed to survive their missions (it was even considered dishonourable), and they weren't so ninja-like. They also probably weren't part of some secret plan to rule the world  They were, however, sly, working towards their own goals, feared by many, and totally badass.

p.s. I've never played the sequel, so I can't speak for that (which, from what I've seen, seems to play more on the secret-plan portion of first game).

I suggested this in the privy awhile ago.
Ill see if I can dig it up.
