[Suggestion]Archer anti-cavallry

Pavises aren't really suitable for the types of battles that go on multiplayer. They are usually for massed encounters, like archer formations or most formations in general. What we have at the moment are small skirmishes where this type of stuff doesn't really give anyone a battle advantage.

I can think of a compromise! , well at least for crossbowmen, instead of pavise shields deployed onto them, why not have an animation (provided you have a board shield) where the archer bends down on his knees, turns around, and reloads while the pavise/board shield is on his back? Who ever plays medieval 2 will know what I'm talking about.

You need to be on the ground, not inside a building? You can't place a wooden stake in stone after all. Also they can be destroyed, they are only dangerous if you don't see them on time and walk into them, or if archers are trying to delay you while getting shot.

Well I meant on the ground level. I'm thinking of that one spot in the central ruins in particular, where there's only one way up and it's up a narrow flight of stairs with walls on both sides.

At any rate, if they were destructible then I'd be okay with it, from an infantry point of view, I think. Though I'm still wary of making them any more anti-cav than they already are.
Well, with or without stakes, cavalry can't do much against archers in buildings while mounted.

Which is WHY cavalry should be allowed "special" weapons! I suggest this one!

Archers don't need any more of a buff.  As it stands they are already the most effective anti-cavalry unit in the game, which is bull****.

Ever notice how Archers can get dominated by infantry, infantry can get dominated by horsemen, and horsemen by archers?  It seems to be the complete opposite of what it should be.

I say that archers should become "afraid" if a enemy horseman is nearby...causing his sights to spread very wide unless in a house (or behind these spikes u speak of).  That would give horsemen the chance to cut through archers AS THEY SHOULD.

Mind you, I am an infantryman and not another horseman who just wants easier killings.  I also believe that horsemen should be able to pound through infantry easier...unless said man has a pike or awlpike.  It is too easy to just stand in front of a horse and take it out....I don't fear them but instead enjoy watching my work cause the horseman to go flying.  Something isn't right, they should be something of dread and terror.

Make a new special ability for archers: Deploy spiked stake group. Would be a nice anti cavarly defense, but could still be defeated, except if in large numbers.
