Sergeant at Arms
suggestion 1

I like games like Gothic, where you can run freely in the countryside simply running over obstacles like fallen trees or stones. The only thing that can stop you is an object that is really meant to be a obstacle (fence, wall for example).

In M&B you are blocked by small rocks on the ground, fallen trees or even fallen fence makes problem to cross sometimes - this is just stupid. You should easily walk over these low obstacles.

suggestion 2

i'd consider introducing new animations for climbing higher obstacles that are like 0.8 meter - 1.3 meters high (for example low walls, fences - just for this, no higher bouldering). it would work the way that when you face the obstacle and double click forward key (kick should be binded separately for uniqe key), your character would crawl over this obstacle (moving his body and legs to the side over the top of the fence). this would be similar like in vietcong game. similar animation could be use when trying to "climb down" from the roof, where is a small attic. your character would after forward double tap lower his body, put one hand on the attic and would jump over the attic down.

so no more waiting in ruined fort in the narrow gaps 1 meter high for the first ones try to jump up. or runing along the 1m fence in ruins just to get to the farm spawn. cool isnt' it?

Yep, to jump should actually be rather automatic, it's not like a small stone on the ground is going to make anyone stop, people just walk it over/go around it or climb over it and maybe jump over it.
Then to climb a fence you just walk against it, click jump and the character climbs over it.

Agree, except automatic navigation should not apply if you're moving backwards. You should stop, or trip and fall, depending on the height of the obstacle, if you hit it while moving backwards.

Very good idea.

But it can easily make you trip when in the middle of combat.

As of now, these obstacles give smart players more environmental tools at their disposal to use tactically.

i don't agree, that 30cm high rock should be considered an environmental tool, that can be tactically used.
but i really like the idea that this rock can stop you if you are moving backwards.
