Suddenly I can't play anymore

I played the free version normally for about a week. Then I bought the game and played normally for a few days.
Now sometimes I can run the game, but most of the time, it crashes when I click "play M&B". A white window appears in the upper left of the screen, M&B's mouse cursor (the one with something written on top of it) appears in the center of the screen, and the computer dies. It stays frozen in that screen, the mouse doesn't move, ctrl alt del, alt F4, ctrl esc, nothing works, and I have to reset my PC..

I tried to disable Norton Anti-Virus, but I can't close it no matter what. Even with the task manager.. apparently it is running as a system task, and I can't close it..
I tried to check the threads thing, but I don't really know where to look since my windows is not in english..
There are, of course, viruses and spywares on my pc (norton and ad-aware can't remove them no matter what), but if that was the problem, I wouldn't be able to run M&B at all, right? I can run it sometimes, depending on luck...

Errr ...

Are you saying that you have viruses and spyware that you are unable to remove ... but that they can't be the problem ... or were you again referring to Norton and Ad-aware? Hard to understand exactly what you are saying ... could you clarify?

If you want to rule out antivirus etc try the following:

1. Disable your internet connection (trust me on this). Just unplug the modem if it's easier.
2. Go to start, click run and type MSCONFIG. Hit enter.
3. When the config tool appears, click on the tab labelled startup.
4. If your using XP, click the disable all button, OK then restart and try the game.
5. If your using 9x then uncheck all of the boxes except Systray, Loadpowerprofile, Explorer and Taskmonitor (or Taskmon). Some of these might not be there, some may be repeated, either way check them all. OK and reboot
6. Try playing

If you want to undo the changes (do it before re-enabling the net connection) run MSCONFIG again and check all the boxes (or enable all).

Nevermind, its working normally now.. if it begins to crash again, I will try that.

Gee , no wonder you have viruses , you got Nortans.

Get something like McAfee (spelling?) or EtrustAntivirus , or Windows AdAware.

They are all excellent program's and don't screw up your computer like Nortan's.
