In this mode if you got stuck and WITHOUT exiting the game (do Alt-tab), you can still have the previously saved game before the bugged one.
- Alt tab in game while stuck so you dont autosave when exiting a location or doing something else
- Go into the Mount&Blade Warband Savegames directory, under Viking Conquest
- Copy the last_savegame_backup.sav file in another sub folder you create, and rename it to sgxx.sav, xx being 00, 01,02... according to the slot of the save (ex: sg00.sav if only one save present for Viking Conquest and no other game started).
- Alt tab back in game and do "save & exit to menu" hitting Escape key
- Alt tab outside game, copy the newly created sgxx.sav and overwrite it on the old sgxx.sav in the Viking Conquest folder (this save has just been created when you did save&exit to menu)
- Alt tab back in game and you can load normally the previous saved game before being stuck
Anyway i dont think this will help much in your situation if many autosave were done in the meantime, if yu play ironman mode, better make some backup copies of the sgxx.sav time to time just in case you need to roll-back
