Strategy Map Difficulty Options

First, let me apologize if this subject has already been brought up in some thread; I did a search for it, but I'm not possitive it hasn't already been disscussed.

Anyway, I thought of this idea when I was playing M&B, and kept ecountering multiple armies that were larger than my own. While I could take one or two of the armies, after a while I would start to run low on troops, then get finished off by a particularly large or dangerous opponent. At first, I was going to post on the forum a complaint about how difficult the game was getting, but realized that many people would disagree with me.

I am, at best, a mediocre player; I usually find a difficulty of around %45 percent about right. On the whole, I'd like the game to be a bit easier to play. However, there are some players who are really fricken' good. You can usually tell who these people are as they tend to talk about how they like to engage dark knight armies alone, naked, equiped with only a cleaver. As a result, we tend to have long drawn out arguments on these forums about how tough the strategy map environment should be.

The solution to this would be to have an option, probably in the form of a slider bar, to set how difficult the overall game is to players. While we already have a way of setting how difficult the battle map is, we don't really have a way of changing how much money we can expect to make, how many enemies are out on the campaign map, or how likely our enemies are to chase us. The difficulty bar I'm suggesting would let us customize the game to our liking without making it too difficult or easy for others.

The difficulty bar would work something like this:
When the Campaign Map Difficulty is set to easy:
-Players will gain more money and loot from battles
-Players will gain more money from succesfully completed quests
-Goods will be sold to the player at cheaper rates
-Goods sold to various mechants will fetch more money (i.e. trade will be more profitable)
-There will be fewer enemy armies on the map
-Enemy armies will contain fewer and less well equiped troops
-More friendly mercenaries will be availible at the towns to hire
-The various factions in the game will like you more
-Quests and enemy kills will be worth more XP

When the Campaign Map Difficulty is set to difficult:
-Players will gain less money and loot from battles
-Players will gain less money from succesfully completed quests
-Goods will be sold to the player at higher rates
-Goods sold to various mechants will fetch less money (i.e. trade will be less profitable)
-There will be more enemy armies on the map
-Enemy armies will contain more and better equiped troops
-Fewer friendly mercenaries will be availible at the towns to hire
-The various factions in the game will like you less, and are harder to please
-Quests and enemy kills will be less more XP

What do people think? I'm open to changes as to how this works, I just think something like this should be implemented.

Well, theoretically I am for every kind of options but is yours feasible?. You can already make the game easier by making damage to 1/2 or 1/4 and adjusting AI (though Im not sure what is the difference between levels of AI since I have always used the good setting). Your suggestion will create Armagan more work and consume his time. And there are cheats. If you use them very rarely, gods of computer games may forgive you (you may have to play for extra hours to satisfy them). :)

I aggree totally. Far too many games are ruined for me because the easy setting isn't really easy at all. I usually play games on the easy setting so I can have more fun and not die every two seconds.
Those skilled and arrogant people on the forum will just yell at me to get better at the game and stop being such a usless noob but I don't care. Make the game the option of being more forgiving to appeal to as a wide an audience as possible.
