Strange shadows in some battles. (Screenshots included)

Hi. I recently bought a new PC and installed Warband on it. (I had it installed on my older laptop with no problems). The game loads up fine, but whenever I go into my first battle, there are weird triangles of light and shadow all over the ground. The strangest thing is that this always happens on the first battle (whether it is custom or in campaign), yet does not persist for the next 2 or 3 fights. On the 4th or 5th battle, this happens again, and so on. This has happened on this PC since day 1. I do not have this issue with any other game. I have tried changing every graphics option in the menu to no avail, and I have tried the past three Nvidia drivers (I currently have the latest beta). I will post my Dxdiag, as well as some screenshots. Please, if you can, help me with this as it is definately annoying. *** Note, I had to remove the last portion of the Dxdiag in order to fit into the post.**

im having the exact same problem, literaly.

Question, do u also have it that your Estimated performance, dont go higher or lower than 33% on max graphics, and 51% on low graphics...
i dont get this, my old laptop runs the game on 79% estimated performance on high setings...

and then our GTX 690's cant handle a game like this? wtf ??

No, I have graphics at full max with everything and it says Estimated Performance 82%. If I change things, the percentile changes as well. This is funny, because like you I played this on my laptop with 0 problems, even on full graphics. I doubt that the 690 would only run the game at 82% because I know that I have WELL over 60 fps as i'm sure that you do. I hope someone can tell us what is going on here.
 
I thought so as well, but I tried quite a few of the past driver sets. Is it possible that this is simply a problem with the GTX 690? Or is there something else? BTW, thanks very much for your response.
 
It's highly likely that it is an issue with the card. I recall one time when I used to have an Nvidia 8400 GS, which is a rather old card. Everything ran smoothly on it. Then when I updated my drivers for the card, and tried to play minecraft, every single block had a visible black border on it, and the performance was decreased severely, but it was fine when I got a newer card. I think that the technology the card uses is just too far from Warband's graphics engine. Although if you're willing to live without shadows, you can turn them off in your graphics settings.
 
Check the driver settings. If you are forcing anti-aliasing in driver settings, it might be causing problems. Play with each setting one by one, and see if any of them causes the issue.
 
I checked, and I did not mess with anything in the nvidia control panel for warband. All of the graphical settings are from in-game. I really hate to think that I paid that much for a GPU that won't even show the world of warband correctly lol. I'm hoping someone knows a trick.
 
I have finally found a way to fix it. Although it is not a good/acceptable solution. The strange looking shadows go away if I turn off environmental shadows (after nvidia beta driver 310.70). I really wish I could play with shadows on and no problems.... *sigh*
