So I've been playing the reforged beta for weeks with nothing strange, and just switched to release version. I became a vassal for Gwennyd, and thought it a little strange that I was not awarded the usual looted village as a new vassal-- I was landless. That kind of pissed me off, but since my renown is over 1000, much higher than any other vassal, I figured I'd just conquer a castle by myself. The old formula would, even with a bad random draw, give a near certainty of not getting denied since I was landless and singled the castle. My rep with the king is not that high, but positive. The castle was awarded to a lord with renown of only 612, with negative (-86) rep with his king, who also owned no lands. This should not be possible under the traditional formula, has this changed? I loaded a save several minutes of real time before decision was made in case of a bad RNG draw, but every time the same person was selected.
