Stop nerfing things.

Anyone ever think they are nerfing things now, because for the most part in their minds we're mostly playing the finished product?

I disagree at this point, caravans were too much safe way of making money and pottery shops were over profitable in comparison to other types of workshops
But what about caravans, as they are more attractive to bandits, it's need to allow to upgrade their safety in some way, for example increase troop limit(as it was decreased with the update) for money or buy/hire additional security to caravan

We have had enough economic nerfs! If pottery shops were better than other workshops, then they should have buffed other workshops, not nerfed pottery shops. Passive income from workshops is already bad enough.

If they are going to make caravans so vulnerable, then you should not need to spend tens of thousands of denars for them. As they are right now, I sometimes do not even get my money back from my caravans before they are destroyed again! That makes them worthless, and that should not be the case!

It doesn't cost me anything to make a companion army. I just tell my companion to go raise an army, and they go around recruiting soldiers and building up their army. The same should be true of caravans. I should be able to assign one of my companions to merchant duties - then they should raise a small guard and go from town to town trading.

When their caravan is destroyed, they should eventually escape captivity and return to trade duty automatically without any input from me. There would be an interruption in my passive income, but that's it.

+1. Bugs, then content, and then balance.

Gamebreaking bugs > Content > Minor bugs > Everything in working order? > Ok now you can balance

Balancing prior to any of the previous is just a waste of time as you'll have to balance it again later.

Agreed. My biggest issue with the nerf to caravans isn't that they did it because it needed some risk to go with the reward. But the biggest issue is that they were so concerned about this one problem and how they needed to "fix it" that they didn't look at how it would affect the world economy. Idk about anyone else but there are several towns economy is in shambles. They really should've tested this thoroughly in the beta and tweaked it before letting out. Idk why they're in such a rush, there are so many more pressing issues with the game right now.

Spot on, but clearly TaleWorlds has other ideas, for whatever reason. We're probably now seeing why the game has taken so long, their priorities are out of whack!

Modders' can take care of the balance while the developers concentrate on the gamebreaking bugs, MP bugs which are restricted for modders and content. TW has always said they appreciate the strong modding community and multiplayer tourneys/servers, but their actions say otherwise.

No. What comes to mind is some unsubstantiated rumor I read before about their workplace: They're very casual/unorganized and just let the workers work on the things they want to work on....
This would kinda explain why we get these weird un-wanted nerfs packs in with needed improvements.
Jimmy noticed caravans make too much money and has a great idea to fix it and slips it in the big patch
Oh ho Jimmy.....
