Currently experiencing either a wall in discovering how to complete the quest or the quest itself is bugged.

After you complete the creation of the Dragon Banner and pledge it to a King not of the Empire (this was the path I chose), you've chosen to side against Istiana. From then on, she attempts to conjure a conspiracy against you in which it begins at 1000/2000. As time goes by, "Stop Conspiracy" quests gradually appear and when concluded it adds more to the "1000/2000" limit (for example, to 1020/2000 and then on).

So essentially, I'm entirely clueless as to how you stop this from rising and how to combat the conspiracy. I've attempted taking castles/cities and raiding farms that I am at war with (including Empire factions) and have not noticed any decline in the amount.

Has anyone discovered how to combat this? I've noticed only one thread that discusses this and it was basically decided that it was an "unfinished quest." Due to this being apart of the story line and potentially game breaking, I find that genuinely hard to believe.

Thank you in advance for any and all input.

I should mention, all the quest says once it appears is "Try to stop the conspiracy." Not very descriptive.

I have the same issue, I went to the guy who gives you the quest and he doesn't have any dialogue and freezes the game. Also with the quest I was a mercenary for Vlandia when I turned in the banner, Let's just say her conspiracy worked because everyone f***** hates me -27 relation with every lord and lady for Vlandia. Currently I loaded a save way before named Destroy Empire or Save Empire, I have the banner made but I am not giving it to anyone until it is addressed. Also my stop conspiracy bar never changed from 1000/2000. It is really irritating.

Personally just looked at my own relations with the other Lords in Vlandia, the only Lords that do not like me (also with a -26, -27 rating) are those that came from the Empire territory. Otherwise, the Vlandians seem to still like me.

Bump: Honestly convinced that only a small percentage of players chose to take the singleplayer mission this far.

Same issue as OP. The only tidbit I heard was that you once it reaches 1400/2000 you will get the empires to declare war on you. Not sure if this is accurate since I'm only at 1200 or so out of 2000. It would be nice though if the devs included a bit more info about this be it that it's unavoidable or some actual hints we can hunt down and solve to stop it.

It's just like you said at the moment in my campaign the empire is quite big and went with keeping the banner. I'm gonna try to with Istiana to check if the developer made and intended way for players to play at the moment. Also, She is the only character so far that I have seen with voice over.

I'm at 1480/2000, been at war with the Empire since 1200 on my playthrough. Actually, the Empire had to just peace us because we ended up turning the tides of war against them (as Vlandia) and now they're a former shell of what they were. It'll be random, but eventually all members from any Empire faction will eventually hate you - even if you begin to win every fight and they end up joining your faction. This is all due to the ever increasing tally and an unfinished quest.

I just got the quest to try and stop the conspiracy and like someone else already stated, I went back to talk to Azragos and asked him the task he gave me which gets you stuck in the menu (Click to Continue doesn't work) so the only thing I could do was Exit to Main Menu and load the autosave, which thankfully was right before I entered that town to talk to him.

For the time being, until this quest is completed, you may be able to fix your issue in this way:

For this fix to work, you will have to enable cheats and install the developer console mod (directions for installation and how to fix launch issue are on the mod page)

To Enable Cheats:
1- In File Explorer navigate to "\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Configs" and open "engine_config" in notepad
2- Edit "cheat_mode = 0" to "cheat_mode = 1"

To Fix Quest Issue:
1- Open developer console (hold ctrl, press ~)
2- Type "campaign.cancel_active_quest conspiracy"
3- Type "campaign.cancel_active_quest stop conspiracy"

Doing this should cancel the quests and remove both quests from your active quest list, and they hopefully shouldn't return. I can't speak to what repercussions this may have in terms of quest-line development; but it's likely a better alternative than being unable to play any longer due to being mauled by every faction.

There's a mod on nexus that extends the quest indefinitely.
True enough, I've mentioned this fix in other replies and been told the same.

However, I do feel this one is a better fix for the fact it can also be applied to any other bugged quest that the player encounters, just by switching the name in the command line. Also the dev console is super useful for fixing a lot of the different wonky things in the game right now, like not being able to declare war or get married (both can be done by console).

Either way, it's a fix for an issue, some people don't know about either so it's helpful at the end of the day ?

Oh yeah, no doubt the console is a godsend! Like you said, it's the only way I was able to get married, since apparently raising your social does nothing to increase conversation chances.

i made it without cheats but many savegames

the only problem i have is that southern empire has no more fiefs but wont give up.

they are totally down but in kingdom menu it shows they were 17000 strong.

but they have nothing anymore

i let it go and take the rest of the map maybe they give up any time
