Still no Crossbow fix?

Its been awhile now, but the crossbow problem are not even listed in the known issues section.. Why is this?

I think they tried to fix the price of a bunch of items including the crossbow but then accidentally doubled it instead.

How does that happen and not get addressed in the very next patch? Beats me...

I was mostly referring to that the crossbow requires 20 in the skill but everyone starts with 5, so no way to increase crossbow skill.

Hmm...well I've had some tournaments that give me a crossbow, and have been leveling it's skill when that happens. Now that you can get XP from tournaments and practice fights, maybe grind there and hope you luck out on what you're issued?

Vlandians can start with 20 Xbow with right starting choices.

In the beta branch they fixed it so that crossbows are only ~7-8k each now instead of the outlandish 44k, though.. now they require 40 crossbow to use

Huh...I always thought one of the crossbow's strengths was the fact that you can give it to an untrained peasant, and he could be as effective as a trained archer.

The items file for single player does list a number of different crossbows, including a light crossbow that requires 0 skill to use. And as far as I can see from the file, there's no reason why it shouldn't be spawning in shops.

But it isn't.

There's a Light Crossbow in the game. Found it as battle loot. Not sure which faction sells it.

@Cri11e If you haven't opted into the beta branch yet, you might want to give that a shot. All of the crossbows have been adjusted to the correct prices and they lowered the skill requirement so people can begin levelling it up sooner. Best of luck!

I will be taking my adventures to Vlandia checking tournaments and maybe mountain bandits who can get me a Light Crossbow!

Just found a "Crossbow" in a shop. Skill 20, cost 1100. This is in beta 1.1.0

I was awarded a light cross bow as loot two days ago. Unlike the same weapon in Warband, it can not be used on horseback. I am considering using it for sieges, but the pouch only hold 20 bolts. At least it can be used without 20 skill.

Theres a perk either in the riding or crossbow branch which will allow you to use it on horseback

i downloaded a mod a few weeks ago that fixed missing weapons and crossbows and also fixed the pricing so i had every crossbow in the game in the citys and the price was normal. THEN talesworld released a patch that "fixed" missing weapons and armor and now the damn price went back to default and doubled. hire some of these damn modders cause they are doing a better job

I have since adhering to the recommendations of this thread achieved 20 crossbow skill by spamming practise fights in a Vlandian arena, went fairly fast because I abandoned the fight everytime I wasn't given a crossbow.

So, I have excitedly now bought an arbalest however to my appalling discovery my perk in the riding skill tree (who lets you use any crossbow on horseback something something) doesn't work so my whole venture was futile before it began.
