Game improvement ideas
(Story element - "Why am in this world, what do I do?")
1. I think there should be some kind of brief history description of who the Swadians and the Vaegirs are, so as to acquaint the player with an idea of the world within the game.
(Gameplay help - "What key does what in the game?")
2. There should also be a readme file or manual on how the game is played and maybe a short walkthrough to get the player started.
(Gameplay Mechanic - Stuff I think should be improved gameplay wise.)
3. Since the horse is such key part of the game, the player should be able to name horses and stable them in town to heal them. Basically, more interaction with the horse would be fun. (Perhaps the travel screen could be more involved this way - such as camping to heal, feeding your horse, etc.)
4. What about a compass on the map screen? Also, it would be nice to have the compass pointing towards both the Vaegir and Swadian kingdoms as a reference, as opposed to just North.)
5.,The random encounter system on the map screen seems a little under-populated too!
6. The map screen is already a little sparse... What about changing everything to a picture of a map the player travels across, instead of a zoomed out view of the world?
7. Horses that are not killed in tournements or battlefields shouldn't dissappear! You should be able to take the horse if your own is killed or you're without one.
(Combat system)
8. Long swords that are "one-handed" should have the ability to become "two-handed" should the player want more powerful attacks or better control.
As I said before I'm still fairly early on in the game, but I would be more than happy to continue sharing what I feel might improve M&B.
