He already passed the reins over to his successor, so why would this affect Apple at all?

Pretty much this, in my mind.

The interesting thing with stocks is a big part of it is investor and consumer confidence.  Apple stock took a small dive when Jobs retired last month from investors being concerned about the direction the company would take without him at the lead, but it was dulled a bit by the fact that he was maintaining an advisory role, and the company would continue to look to him for guidance.

But now that he's dead, that's a huge blow to investor confidence, and with the lackluster showing of the 4S Apple will have a rough day at the markets tomorrow.

Still RIP Steve Jobs, for creating the forebears to most of the electronics we take for granted today.

Hope after his death, Apple won't sell over-priced again. Because all iPhone in my country are overpriced, 700-800 bucks for a iPhone 4 ? No, thanks.

Do you guys know what's strange about this. Five minutes after his death is announced, there is an obituary on BBC .

Most mainstream agencies whose primary purpose is that of Journalism (I could honestly not think of how else to say that. White Russians....) already have obituaries written for most popular people so that it can be instantly shown when a fatality of said famous person, is officially reported.

It's Samsung made mostly. My Samsung Android costs $900 before contract. Samsungs a ****ing great company and I own a lot of stuff by them. Never had a problem from anything made by Samsung that wasn't a user error. Expensive though, it's worth it.
