Steam, love it or hate it?

What's the point on handling cd's, making sure you dont scratch it and having to store it afterwards.. Much better is having a digital copy of the game + steam has some really nice sales every week and you can find everything there.

Love it.

Tbh I have no issue with that. I dont treat discs with more care than any other item that I dont want broken.

Hate getting spammed with adverts, hate how I have to have internet to play ETW. Love the occasional free game and the internet browser.

Crappy piece of **** a three year old could have designed better.

And frankly, if you can't look after a CD, they shouldn't let you anywhere near a PC in the first place. Or anything more dangerous than sponge for that matter.

Loathe it. Because of it, you can't play E:TW or N:TW without an internet connection, it interrupts your game when you do manage to get on, and it means that it is impossible to share games (Me and my brother tend to buy games jointly and then both play them. With steam, we cannot do this... they expect us, two people in the same household, to buy two seperate copies of the game? When it is priced at over £20? Seriously...). You are effectively paying to have limited access to a game by using steam.

And the ridiculous fact that ye cannot play a steam game, while updating/downloading something with steam or the download will pause.

I just misplace it from time to time. No need to get nippy.  :???:

Steam is brilliant. I haz spoken.

**** Steam. Just because Virgin are being tossers atm, why should that mean I cannot play an offline game? Was great about two weeks ago aswell, when ETW just randomly deleted itself and instead of re-installing I had to download the full game, which took me about 20 hours.

Their system of $ = € alone is reason enough to hate it. Though I do have a lot of games on it, thanks to a good bunch of free games I've gotten.

I had bought like 10 games, but as soon as that law came to power I immediately soldgot rid of my steam account. Really lame. :/

This is rather annoying. You used to be able to change it, but recently I can't find that option. :???:

I think it works if you ALT+TAB out of game and manually start download again.

Wut wut? Can you expand on this?
Steam's currency used to be dollars, but one day it suddenly turned into euros. So, when a game was 50$, over a night it turned into 50€..

Meh, I was really pissed off at Steam so I sold my account to a friend. Not going to buy any more games from there, either. It's all rediciolously over-priced..
