When i dont have an army and im the only playing... it gets annying when you have the enemy go straight to you... I really want stealth added as a skill... How bout they have to search for you or untill you shoot your bow...

You can use sneak around on a horse-

you can safly hide your army but it must be half of your stealth skill (stealth skill of 10, you can hid 5 men safely)

Crouch button- crouched when not moving adds 2 to your stealth skill and increases accuracy a bit

Night fighting Increases stealth skill by 2

Enemy stealth skill would show less amount of people in the group
(So you want to attack 2 pirates when you attack them theres actually 4)

I voted yes, mainly because I'd think it'd be fun to be able to sneak around in enemy towns, avoiding guards, ninja like, instead of walking into the enemy king's bedroom undetered and fully armed.

For battle maps, perhaps we could just make the enemy come towards your initial position, but for the rest of the battle, they wouldn't be able to sense where you are at and would have to search (though that'd necessitate line of sight and other factors.)

If done realistically, it has potential. Ambushing people in the battle map, stabbing a distracted enemy in the back, etc... Should only work for unarmored and lightly armored people.

Yes, I really only would want it if it could be done well,

I think you should be able to go into towns (like aragon said Towns were oging to be unique) And be able to steal things weapons horses and such If you were caught by lets say a merchant your relations with him would decrease and he wouldnt let you sell or buy from him you could only increase this relations by helping with a caravan and such

or like the "man in the cage" you could get arrested for stealing horses, drunk then getting caught under a tree

or go to get hanged but escape.

I voted no, but that's because I didn't read the posts here, and was just thinking about battles. It would be good to use stealth in towns to steal things etc.
On the battle map I don't think steal like thief should be used, more that the enemy don't know where you are without seeing you. So you can run around them, hiding behind a hill, and be able to flank them

if it were to be simple, it could just show a picture of the map passing, like when you sleep at a tavern, and it could go fast, then show the results of the nights efforts, and you could set it to what you wanted to steal, then if you were to get *randomly* caught, you would go into a battle of some description, and your ability could go up by a % per time you go stealing.

You do know that there is sounds already in your game files for amushes right? And even armagan himself even said and I

Yes, hiding is definitely in my todo list. It would probably add more fun to the gameplay.

As for being a thief, it would probably work like it did in Fable. It would be availible but, you have so much money that putting points into a steal skill takes away from other useful options.

Being stealthy on the battlefield just seems dorky to me. You already can "flank" the enemy when you have troops and you guys seem to forget that this game is more about leading an army to fight another army rather than soloing the entire time.

Oh, I guess my vote would be no except for ambushes because those would be cool.

Well i guess the main thing then i would want would be to hide but i guess armagen already said that

When I said about being able to flank the enemy I didn't mean soloing. It wolud be great if you could split my army into a number of groups and then order each group seperately. Then you could let your main force attack the enemy head on while you take a smaller force around the enemy to attack from behind.

yea i had a post about that not to long ago about being able to control different groups of your men

The party page right now says the type of units you have and how many. Perhaps, instead of having a slot taken up by one type of unit, we could have one battalion per slot? All the units that are unassigned would then be listed by type. To unassign a group, just talk to them and click "Unassign" or w/e. To assign to the group, just click the unit type and click "Assign to Group 1/2/3" to add 1 unit of that type to the battalion/group. There could be a simple command system for it, as well. To order group 1 to hold position, you press 1, for group 1, and then press 1 again for Hold Position. For group 2 to charge, press 2, to select them, and then press 3 to order them to charge. This would be perfect for setting up ambushes. You could have 2 archer battalions on the sides of a valley, and a "bait" group down inside the valley.

Stealth would be a good thing to have, but if the enemy walked too close to you, they would see you. You could only stay concealed for a short amount of time, only daggers, knifes, etc. can be used while stealthed (bows maybe, but not like.. axes or anything)

If knifes, daggers, etc. were made the only stealth-attacking weapons, then more people might use them. Right now, I don't think anyone uses them. Even if the butchering knife is fast as lightning

I voted "no" because, to me, it's purely a solo idea. Unless you can tell your party to sneak or you can hire some type of stealthy troops I don't think you should be the only one who can do it.

Stealth to me is more about the roleplaying aspects of a character in an rpg, and I see M&B right on the cusp of being an ACTION game with subtle rpg elements.

If the cities are more interactive and the army you can control is also capable and the enemy as well.

I don't think stealth has a place in this game....

But if M&B does incredible like I know it should!!! hopefully there could be a bigger team of game designers for M&B2 and some of these subtle rpg elements could come to life!

yea orion someone had that post with the idea for 1.1 1.2 and so forth i cant remeber who it was right now

NOOOOOOOO!!!
Seriously, this is a COMBAT game, for FIGHTING. Stealth CANNOT be added as an afterthought, It just won't work. The amount of action games that have been tainted or ruined by a sealth level is too many to count.
Look at the stealth games Thief and Splinter Cell, they were disigned for stealth from the very beginning. Light, shadow, sound, inteligence, tension, expert map design. These are the key components for even a basic stealth aspect. If stealth is crowbarred into the game now, it will be CRAP, and the rest of the game will be dragged down because of it.

Voted no, but really, line of sight with the options it brings is a definite YES.

That, with a simple tactical interface, would allow on-the-field ambushes, flanking, and other nice stuff.

Only if it depends on Line of Sight.

Stealth as in "My group is hiding behind the bend to ambush the approaching enemies." not stealth as in "You can't see me because I'm invisible! Hahaha!" while walking in front of an opponent.

Since I'm pretty sure this isn't what you meant, I put 'no'.

I too hate the 'My sk1llz in da St3alth is g00dr than yor Detecton' approach that most RPGs sadly take.

But if a LOS based stealth system is possible, then it has my full support. That would mean removing the spidey-sense from the AI.
