Hello there everyone,

i have something to confess
i have no idea how to mod, and i have plenty of awesome ideas (infact, i write my own short stories, so if i don't have any ideas that would be bad) but, i don't know how to code or whatever... infact, i don't even know what modding system to get... i really want to mod, can someone please help me here.

I am assuming since you posted in this forum that you want to mod mount and blade in someway or another. If not, then you might be better off searching google or bing for general modding info.

Since you are here we will keep it to M&B. First you must decide WHAT you want to do. Do you want to make a cool single player campaign or mod, do you want to make some multiplayer maps or a map/mod, or do you want to get crazy and make the first m&bmmorpg.. you must have a plan before you do any of these.

All the infromation to do any of this (well besides mmorpg) is available right here in these forums. The search is powerfull and the stickied links very informative.

If I was you I would begin by deciding what I wanted to do, then go to unofficial tutorials area and work my way through the tutorial that best describes your end goal; be it multiplayer or single player.
Modpedia2 in the stickies there provides plenty to wet your teeth.

Then ask any specific question here in the forum.

An mmorpg mod does sound cool  but there is no way that i could do that (yet). And i wanted to make a single player campaign. You see, i write my own short stories in my spare time, and i have piles and piles of notebooks just sitting around with them in them, so Ive got plenty of ideas for mods.  But thanks for the info on the fourms, I'm rather new to them.

Then I would definately start with the Modpedia2:

Don't ignore ones in there like "Setting up a multiplayer map from start to finish". It is an excellent tutorial for setting up the foundation stuff like python, module system, and the scene choser (which you will really love and have to have if doing a single player mod).

I would also grab a large soda/coffee and read through the ~300 pages of the Mod makers thread, since  most of it applies to single player:

Then I would play with the scene editor, scene chooser, practice getting an item from, modified in a 3d program, then back into the game. I would also do some small coding changes. In no time you will be moddding like crazy.

Anytime to hit a specific roadblock just remember to search the entire forum using the search on site. I have found answers in other places besides just modding ones.
