Starting a kingdom from scratch. Faction relations effect?

When starting your own kingdom from scratch what exactly happens with the relations of factions you aren't taking the castle/towm from? Do they automatically drop to a set ammount, such as all dropping to -30? Or take certain hit like all taking a -10 hit?

I'm thinking of trying to prepare well before starting my kingdom and wanted to know what to expect. I mean if their all going to automatically drop to a set number why waist my time right?

Anyone have a fairly detailed answer for this one?

Wow more than 50 views and not ONE person willing to give an answer....  Find it hard to believe that not one of them started their own kingdom...

Yeah I haven't, because even in M&B1, I found it difficult to hold just one castle. I'm gonna take it easy at first.

I tried my own kingdom. Don't remember the specifics of the relation hit, but you are open season for most lords. Be sure you can raise a good city garrison quickly. The faction you took the town from will def rush you, but I aslo got attacks from the vaegirs. And no one wil make peace with you, I assume that any peace depends on your Right to Rule.

Just checked, took Wercheg from nords, -40 relations. Declared on kingdom, no hit with other factions, nords already marching my way. Nords were basically at 0 so not sure if its -40 from what you are at, or if its just set to -40. Hope that helps.

Careful, I was with Vaegirs when I left and made my castle (taken from Nords) into my own faction. Nords was trying to harass and raid my village constantly but I was always fending them off, though I lost some men here and there. I sent a message to King Yarogek (spelling?) the leader of Vaegirs hoping for good relations as we were both against Nords. He accepted me as a Faction (specifying mainly because we were fighting a common enemy). Couple weeks pass and Nords/Vaegirs make a truce, I was still at war with Nords when a few days passed and Vaegirs apparently saw our relations, and my strong friendship with the king along with his vassals, as thing of the past when they proceeded to gangbang my castle repeatedly.

Long story short, when you start out you better expand quickly and have at least a few vassals ready to serve you.

I am creating my own kingdom from the scretch. It's quite difficult because I am still alone. I have so far one town, one castle and 4 villages (I think). I am constantly going through severe battles, at the moment with all factions. I don't know if I will be able to withstand all of this. First I had only one castle and village and the most faction were neutral to me except sarranids and I could trade with them, recruit villagers, troops in taverns and so on. After I conquered a town all faction became hostile to me. I had to face superiority 125 : 1486 Khergit Khanate who  invaded my town. The battle for this town took about 2 hours of real time and in the end I won. I managed to substantially reduce Khergit Khanate army and for now I have rest from them for a while. I think if all the factions will become hostile to you it it necessary to conquer and keep at least one town so as you could trade somewhere, hire some troops in taverns and so on. I don't know how this situations will be evolving further and later I will wrote more.

you can recruit companions as Vassals by the way, It's best to use the "Noble" companions like Alayen, Just ask him if he would like a fief, Give him a village and he becomes a Lord with his own army. You don't get any -hits on your faction relation from making your own kingdom but you will be at war with the kingdom you took the fief from, make sure the kingdom you take your initial fief from is at war with another kingdom otherwise they will pretty much just destroy you. 1500 vs 120 not so good

This is another possiblity but I don't like it. I prefer to have all my companions in my company because when they are well trained and I have them well trained already all our group slowly becomes unbeatable. By my opinion it isn't good idea let my companions go off devoting them some villages or castles because they will never be at hand if I need them desperately.

You recruited all the companions, they dislike each other ? you could keep the good ones and recruit the other ones as lords - problem solved

Do they still lvl up as lord?

I pondered about it too already any maybe I will do it in the end but idea I would devote anything to Matheld, Lezalit, Marnid, Borcha and some others..... I doubt that they would be willing to help me in some critical situations. But I really pondered about it but if I will do I it at all I will do it only if it is completely necessary.
