It is likely that the thing you are asking about is hardcoded into the game. With the sheer exception of pre-made ones, all battleground scenes (at least in Native) have this flag: sf_auto_entry_points. It governs the layout of Entry Points, which perhaps are ordered and put from one cardinal direction to another (from a player's view). A human agent might be assigned the first Entry Point, thereby making him or her start from, for instance, left. I have not ever worked with positions, so I will not tell, but it might be possible to make a special script. It will assign one Entry Point to a player and then place it on the terrain in a given position, bearing in memory the layout of other Entry Points. I have no clue whether it is possible, but if it is, then writing such code might prove to be a waste of time, given a possible gain.
