Start a war

Hi

Just wondering if it's possible to start a war between the faction you are vassal with, and another faction *without* having a quest to do so.

I'm currently with the Nords... I started a war quite some time ago via a quest, but we've been totally at peace for something like a month now...

I've been hassling all the lords for quests, but none of them are asking me to start a war, and I'm really really sick of waiting around. Just wondering if I have any option to get a war going, short of rebelling (which I'm not overly keen to do right now, but if that's the only way to get my game moving again I might have to.)

Cheers.

A war will be declared eventualy, you could just wait and upgrade your troops.
If you want to start a war you could raid some caravans and even attack the enemy lords walking around that will eventually trigger a reaction from the target realm, you will loose some honour and your standing with your faction king and other lords will drop, except with some of the war-loving lords... are you sure you talked with all your faction lords ? some are always looking for a good fight ...

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Just been doing laps of Calradia raising troops and making money. I've got about 250 trained up troops barracked in Suno now, and am really bored   I've been around every castle and city we own several times now, so I'd be surprised if I missed talking to any of the lords.

If attacking a couple of caravans will do it, like in the quest, then I'll try that. I just wasn't keen to go mess up my reputation if it wasn't going to help

Fecal matter + Properly Labeled Parchment Bag + Fire + Keep of Douchbag King = War. You'll still have to wait for your faction to wage war if you're not turning up the declarations quest. You could start your own personal war, but that would require you to single-handedly take on an entire faction.

As the others said, you can't start a war without the quest.
Attacking their caravans and such lowers only the disposition of their kingdom toward you, they attack you and the lords of your side do nothing.

The war quest takes a lot of time until it is offered again, you can change that yourself, look it up in TheMageLord's tweak thread. That change is save game compatible but you should make a copy of the file you have to change.

OK, good tip! I'll tweak that question to be excessively likely, get the quest, then set my game back to normal

On the start a war quest: I've been given the quest, "attacked" a caravan, but it doesn't give me the option to fight after I demand their goods.  I only get a "leave" option, and deterioration of my relationship with the faction.  Any ideas why I'm not getting the option to fight? :???:

Raid some villages of that faction first, I think maybe you need lower relations to start attacking caravans randomly.

Raiding villages will cause bad relation with the lord who runs it and the people of that village but not directly to the faction itself.

Odd, I found raiding villages allowed me to besiege that faction, must have been, like you say, that lords.

Interesting, perhaps taking out patrols requires no negatives in relations? I'm just suggestion, I have no real clue.
