"Start a New Game" disabled

I have been playing with version 1.011 since it came out.  Originally got a license over a year ago, so pre v1.x and the current install is a 1.011 upgrade over a 1.003 installation. 

Play has been fine, in fact just completed my first full game with my faction controlling all the lands.

So now I want to start a new game.  The problem is that that option is grayed-out on the initial menu.  Everything else looks fine, but I don't have the option of starting a new game. 

None of my searches on this forum have turned up anything related to this.  Could be that I just wasn't using the correct terms, but I'm eally scratching my Head here.  Any thoughs?  TIA.

How many saves do you have?

Wow, quick respomse!  Thanks.

All 9 of the slots have saves from different points in this campaign -- some from the earlierst days before I had any holdings or was affiliated with a faction.

That's your problem. Erase one you don't need.

I guess that would be all of them if I want to start a new game!  I'll give that a whirl.

This scheme IS different from any other game I've played -- it seems to imply that one could not have more than one game going at one time, short of doing some manual file copying behind the scenes.

Anyway this insight will make all of the difference in the world.  Thanks folks!

Ahhh!  Strike that.

I glossed-over the "delete ONE" bit.  A new game just has to have at least one save-slot open to start.
