Bump, the promised expansion is getting released tomorrow. It adds some AI improvements, a new race, a new game mode, new techs, and probably some other stuff.

Only the host needs to have it for multiplayer, like CK2 or Endless Legend. The game is really fun, I would pick it up if you like 4x space games.
