Sergeant
Do you think there would be a way to add in a sprint action?
like say u are charging but u want to get a good speed bonus by going faster, and you are on foot.
so i was thinking something like pressing ctrl and then pressing W at the same time; it would make u run faster

How i said in the past
WE neeed an exam to comprove that the guy understood the rules to enter >_>
man , post this in KC !!! not TPG!

but still a medium good bad idea lol  :shock: :roll: :eek:

and should Athetics inflict on this?
like i have 10 At, and 10 Agi
so i can sprint 5 seconds
At SkillPoint+AgiStatPoint/2 = Seconds to sprint
? :?:

Yes this has been done in the past, simply scripting a button press to increase athletics or agility would work as a sprint button, however at the moment I don't know of any mod that does this and it isn't something that you'd be able to do easily yourself.

Well, a nice  thing will be

Sprint Time = x
Sprint Velocity = y
Agility = a
Strenght = b
Athletics = c
Ironflesh = d

x = d+b+a+c/10sec
like
x= 5 + 15 + 10 + 5/10
10x= 35
x= 3.5 Seconds
]

y = a*3+c*3+(b/2)/10
y= 30+15+7.5/10
y= 52.5/10
10y= 52.5
y= 5.25x Normal Speed =D

how its is?

the player will sprint for 3.5seconds 5.25x the normal player speed

That's indeed an excellent idea, a light jog when your enemies are poking you in the back with their long spears is not very realistic. :smile:
It would be quite useful for foot archers.

Yea. It would great, actually. It would look awesome in a viking mod. Were the vikings run all the way but in the last moment the make a sprint and slashes them selves through the enemy with their badass axes.

Chel's old mod had it. As well, Kardiophylax from our mod has added in a similar ability for our beserk orc-types. They also glow red :razz:.

But to sprint you need to withdraw your weapons and shields :wink:
so its more realistic lol

more realistic ? can sprint perfectly fine wielding my various swords and shields :razz:

Plastic  :mrgreen:

So with Weapons and Shields, the Encumbrance affect the movin speed
so you wull sprint slower =D

dude my swords are mostly hand made, and theyr not plastic. and neither is my shield.

I think your overestimating the weight of swords  :roll:

and most shields for that mather.

I think round shields would be ok, but the 5 feet  metal shields should quite slow you down (I guess :roll: )

It's a good thing that metal shields didn't exist then. :wink:

A 5 ft board shield is not only heavy(yeah, it's wood. But not plywood.) but pretty clumsy and it could very well get into your legs' way.

However, a small buckler wouldn't really matter...

Same thing with weapons, you wouldn't care about a small dagger in your hand while running(unless you had to look out for friends not to stab) but carrying a claymore makes gaining ground a lot harder.

Depends what you're running for. Maybe you just want to get 10 feet away from a mob but not throw your weapons away. Anyway this is design overkill. What would the point be of a feature where the player drops all his stuff and runs? Sometimes you need to let the player do much more than is realistic or the features aren't very useful.

My sister owns a claymore, and they aren't that heavy. It would be awkward to run with, but I don't think it would slow you down very much when you factor in adrenaline. The real slow down would be armor, and even then it's more because of it would restrict your movements.

i think then you would need a new skill called "conditioning"
1 conditioning=+1 sec sprint
athletics=sprint speed
agility=0.1 sprint secs and 1 sprint speed

and it should be triggered on lets say "T" and once triggered you use up about 3 health and lets say you can only use it every 30 secs.
and when in sprint mode if you hit you turn it off, but the hit has a plus 50% damage (charge attack)
strength=+2% damage

If someone doesn't make sprinting like this i will not use it :grin: lol joking i will help if you need but the if it is impossible to make % for damage then simply make plus 50 damage and every str point you get plus 2 damage :grin:
that makes the damage much more lethel and you dont want to be in the front row :grin:

and if 50 damage is too much then it should be like 30 and plus 1 every str!

Cheers dudes,
MISHO

Wrong. Armor is less restrictive than most of you think. And unlike weapons and shields its weight is distributed all over the body. You're still quite agile with a mail shirt(it wouldn't slow you down that much but it would rather make running more exhausting). And having a huge weapon to carry around is more restricting than having a mail shirt, or maybe even light plate armor. And plate armor itself isn't as restrictive as it's displayed either, you should keep in mind that it was still designed to be a suit for fighting and not for standing around doing nothing.

But yeah, I think the weight stat had to be modified(probably doin this in my mod anyway) so it would rather stand for how restrictive the item would be than how much it actually weights(like I said before, the weight of an armor is distributed all over the body, and you all will agree with me that carrying a gambeson is more comfortable than carrying a great axe).
