Do you know what I enjoy in this game so much? The community. I like the community, I bored of this game long time ago, but I still play it cause I love the community. Leagues are fan-made, we want to play for fun and we actually have fun.
Take a look at ESL or any of the eSports stuff. People hate each others, cause of the prize. Players won't play anymore for fun, but for winning. Do you know what that means? More cheating, more complaining, **** community and haters.
Take a look at any of the competitive games. I know this, cause I'm playing competitive FPS games (and also played it before Warband) and I just see this everywhere.
Maybe you can't understand cause you didn't play anything like this before?

Maybe ur right profail, but still, it would be awesome. i've played counter-strike source and i tried more then my best to show them im worthy to get sponsered. I think, people in this game will play better when they get money for it, even if it is a few euros.

Your points about the ESL communities being ****ty are dud. The reason being they aren't communities. They never had what we have as a community, they are just kids who have signed up on a website. They are not once great communities destroyed by the corrupting power of money but simply benefactors of a competitive approach lacking somewhat in this community. We won't lose what we have, I have far greater faith in the people here than to say that. We don't need to lose out on what could be, just because what we have going is pretty decent.
Jesus Christ Lust... I hope Turkey has given you some colour in that skin.

Sponsors and prize are going to be encouragements for people that need an aim or something to gain at the end but for people that don't need it, nothing's going to change. I don't see where is the probleme if you want to keep playing for fun just keep doing it. Even in games like CS there are people looking for the fun before all.
I've been playing Counter Strike for 5 year, from 1.1 to 1.6 at pretty competitive stage. My best memories as a gamer were when i was playing LANs tournaments. This is where i had so much fun.
And it's impossible to have it without sponsors.
Also, i know that if i can have a deal with a sponsor for Warband, i'll do it cause i'm pretty sure this is something that will improve the community.
Sponsorhip for tournaments may turn out to be a good idea.
As for single clans, whenever you add the money variable, the fun seems to suffer as the pressure increases and the team dissolves.
Also, and i'm talking as a member of an Italian clan, videogaming are not this big a part of our culture yet. I mean, it is hard for a normal amateur football team to get a sponsor, if we are going to ask some money for a videogame they are just going to laugh in our face.
