[Spoilers] Stuck at Snotingaham-mission

Hi!
It seems that my story-mode game has gotten stuck at the mission where Bjorn tells you to go to Snotingaham to speak with his brothers who are stuck there. He's given me the seax, and at the time of writing this, it is in my inventory.
The first time I went to Snotingaham after receiving the mission, I got some kind of mission where I had to move through a forest full of enemies. For some odd reason, I ended up leaving that area unintentionally, and now, every time I try to go back there, I am just given a description of the terrible situation that the besieged Danes are in. I can then choose two options: "I need to recruit more men" and "Leave". Both of these options result in me returning to the campaign map.
However, I've tried to build a huge army, with that same result. I even made one of my allies walk down to Snotingaham with me, and take over the city.  This just resulted in me being able to enter it, but the mission remained impossible to complete.

Is there any way to resolve this? Otherwise I am quite stuck in this awful situation.
At the very least, please make sure this doesn't happen for other people in the future.

It seems to be a general problem for people, that whenever they leave an area while a mission is in progress, it's impossible to get back to the area to continue.
This seems to be the case for my Snotingaham mission, as well as people who leave Odin's cave before having completely finished by talking to Bodo.

It would be really nice to be told whether I should just restart my whole campaign or wait for a fix. (or if I should expect one at all).
It's very frustrating to be stuck in the story, it's quite interesting.

I need to know how you leave area without finish this mission?

I believe I just ran to the edge of the map and pressed "leave the area" - I can't really remember because I was distracted by steam quite a bit at the time.

I don't know if this is important, but when I entered I saw how I got the notification in the bottom right, something along the lines of: "You remember that you need to bring the Seax for this"
The seax was in my inventory, so I don't know why it reminded me.

I have an issues here.

My inventory was full and I never received the "item" from Bjor. My other last save was 12 days ago 

Also the fortress belongs to Gwynedd, so do I have to track down Bjorns brothers one by one all over the map? How is this fun?

I don't know if is related to the fact that he is now near his castle...

Bjorn is not in Snotingaham, he has a camp nearby to the north-east

Bjorn is not in Snotingaham, he has a camp nearby to the north-east

Sorry, I ment Bjor's camp, however he isn't inside his camp...only the Bodo speech

This is a problem. You will need to use cheats - camp menu -Cheats - items and take ragnar's seax or you cannt continue.

I will look at into this for next patch.
