Summary: when using pre deployment, i select preference Heavy and Polearm to one of the units and Shield and throw to another. when trying to get all Vlandian Pikeman in one unit, it will mix different units and not priorities the preferred. i have had recruits and shielded spearmen move over before i had the Pikeman
How to Reproduce: set one unit to Shield and throwables and another to polearms and heavy. have say 40 pikeman and 60 other polearm units some with shields and use the slider on the polearms and heavy to see the error you wont get all 40 pikeman in. (maybe a rework of the idea so you can select prefer units from a check list) .

The splitting of units really doesn't work very well right now. For example, I want to bring the Berserkers at Sturgia to a separate squad, but I can't do it clearly. Is it possible to return the installation of units outside the battle and add the same to the battle map?

Not being able to assign troops and lords in the party screen is intended but the reasons are different.

Being able to assign troops to different formations would break the saved values and how the percentage sliders/filters work. If you could assign a horse archer to an infantry formation, you couldn't get him out of the infantry formation in current implementation of the OoB. Zeroing the Infantry slider in that formation would still keep the horse archer you put in there. OR we disregard the horse archer assigned there are, move him back to a horse archer formation when the slider value changes. Formations would be a mishmash of troops and it's not possible to represent that with sliders.

If we add all 4 troop type sliders to all of the cards then one of the problems is, "when do we remove the troops assign from party screen?". Player changed the filter, do we remove them? Player set the slider to zero, do we remove them? I'm not even going into AI problems with having 8 different mishmash formations.

Now one way to overcome that can be locking each formation's troop type from the get go and not letting the player change them. Formation I-II is Infantry, Formation III-IV is Ranged, Formation V-VI is Cavalry and Formation VII-VIII is Horse Archer and you can only assign a troop to a formation that is related to their equipment. But we didn't want to restrict the player to these pre selections.

All in all, assigning formations to normal troops in the party screen is conflicting with changes made in OoB that's why it's removed.
 
Thanks for answer. I really like this new feature, it's cool. Иut earlier i could do so called "King's guard" purely from my companions)) Use a squad entirely of Berserkers to ambush in the battle. Now it is impossible or very difficult

I hope developers will be able to add a similar feature without removing new ones
 
in regards to this answer, is it possible to add extra choices for preferred. I came about this trying to move spearman into their own so i could combat horse charges. so making a choice of "brace" ability would be good. i can do it now but i have to pre set a couple of units to other prefers before it focuses just on the spearmen
 
I've been informed by the team that this issue is not a bug but intended behavior. We can't assign units to a specific formation. If there are other units that also comply with the selections it is normal for the formation to be mixed. You can however make a suggestion about this here.
