well, I just saw Spider-man 3 this weekend, and quite frankly...I have no clue what to think. Part of me thought it was great, and the other part of me thought it was utter ****.

The action sequences were great, the "humourous" parts were hilarious, the story was decent, and Topher Grace was pretty good in the film.

on the other hand, they ruined Venom completely, the director tried to "wrap up any loose ends from the first 2 films", which leaves little opening for future films, tobey may not do anymore spidey films, and I have a feeling any replacement would be ****ty. And because of the ending of the film, there may not be a spider-man film featuring carnage, unless they completely stray from the comic storyline (they already have, but to feature carnage after spider-man 3 would be soooo much worse. it wouldn't make much sense. there's really only one way they could get it to work, and it still wouldn't make much sense). Basically, the director decided to write the 3rd film and **** it up so that they couldn't make anymore films. Gay.

post you're thoughts here, and maybe predictions for a Spider-man 4 (assuming there will be one).

Idea guy 1: "So, venom makes people like sinister and **** right?"

Idea guy 2: "Yeah, like, emo and ****"

Idea guy 1: "Emo, that ****s ****ing scary, lets go with that!".

Great film, apart from the bit where he swoops down in front of the stars and stripes - way too cheesey.

Eh, decent. About like the first two but not as good.

If they decide to make another one, I've no doubt they'll explain that you didn't actually see Venom die, you just saw the explosion and nothing really there afterwards.

Theres still the meteor, and the sample in the lab.

even so, no eddie brock= no carnage, because spider-man needed venom's help to beat carnage, so if there is carnage but no venom, then spidey can't beat carnage. And if he does beat him by himself, that's just lame.

And I'd love to see them explain how the same pumpkin bomb that gave Harry a minor burn completely vaporised Brock.  *sigh*  Venom deserved a better movie than this.  Sandman was completely superfluous, they didn't need him in the movie at all.  Surely Venom represented a big enough threat?

That said, Sandman was also one of the better characters in the film.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I enjoyed it, but it seemed like two or three movies jammed into one.

May be a bit obscure, but I loved the bit where the sandman is created, the part where the sand is rolling across the dunes with the music is a really good piece, I can't explain why it is. The sadness where he can't grab the locket is well done.

I think it seemed like they just tried to stuff as much people in it to make there story plausible. I don't think they needed Sandman in it and should of focused on Venom more.

"Lets kill Spiderman!"
"Okay"

Ah yeah..the American flag bit was just cheesy. The jazz bit  Also cheesy and unnecessary. But great.

Overall I enjoyed it. It featured the better fights from the trilogy. But I think the 1st fight scene was too dark.

I reckon the reason why they're kinda killing off the franchise is because they've gotten tired of making films. It's like in x-men 3 how half the characters either got killed off or lost their powers.

Except X-Men3 also set up the possibility of a completely unnecessary sequel.  They didn't need that last scene at all if that was their goal.

Spidey3, maybe.  I'd heard that both Dunst and Macguire (or whatever) aren't really considering going for a 4th movie, which doesn't surprise me.
