Not only did they go beyond the UN borders, but they also took Jerusalem as their capital. The UN plan would have seen the city become a neutral UN mandate.

The problem is they can't deliver the supplies, medical help etc. because of the 'war'/bombings.

Gaza needs a seize fire and for Israel to allow aid.

Meanwhile many other places on the globe are in need of money/aid. Just look around.

If I was sure that my hard-earned money was going directly to poor orphaned kids, then I wouldn't hesitate to help. As it is, no aid is getting into the country because aid workers are being shot at, so I think I will pass, and save an aid worker's life.

After the fact. Israel did not "sieze the land according to the UN borders", it went beyond the land assigned by the UN and demanded Egypt and Lebanon recognise the redrawn borders if they wanted their lands back. The UN recognition came largely as a result of the US and USSR tripping over themselves to get Israel on their side.

But on the other hand, Fatah and Hamas were making a decent go of a unified government, until information was leaked to an Israeli newspaper that the US and certain Arab countries were funneling money into Fatah -- Faced with evidence of a coup, what would you do?

Not that I condone any of the actions that are currently going on over there - Fatah and Hamas have both been responsible for atrocities, and Israel recently proved that it can't be trusted with weapons either.

if you re asking only one side to stop the violence, then what your saying is that this is just an internal affair of israel.  by the definition of state, monopoly on violence means hegemony and thus victory for israel.  hamas has been sending these so called missiles, but what they actually are is oversized fireworks, to israel because of the never ending BLOCKADE which has been causing people to starve to death.  kassams are dumbfires anyway; and cannot do more than psychological damage, and declare that this is not just over.
