Spell check messed up.

It complains of sentences, not words, and the part it thinks is wrong is shown on the upper left corner, no matter where it originally was =/
apparently it works fine sometimes, and is broken other times.

Hmm.... very odd. This one might take a bit longer to fix. I don't know what the 1.1 Final SMF update might have changed to muck it up, and none of our mod packages seem to change any files related to spell checking.

I have noticed that the spell check works fine in IE7 for some reason, but not in Firefox 2.0 (which I use). Of course, it was working fine before the update a couple of days ago, right? I'm not entirely sure since I don't normally use the spell check.

Okay, I think I've fixed it by replacing the main file which has to do with spell checking with the previous RC3 version.

Yep, spell check worked on this message. Here's hoping this has no repercussions related to the stuff that was changed, though looking through the file I don't think it will.

EDIT: and before anyone says it, yes, this was a triple post. So sue me.

Tsk tsk, you should give a good example Janus, what with being an Admin and all.. ;P

Add: here's a pic of what it looked like when I spell checked this message =D

Also, now that I have finally made a thread, I should mention that spell check doesn't work at all in Quick reply, even though you probably won't be hurrying to fix that since it's probably only me and Princy who use it =P

Edit: This could be you fixing it, but at the moment it isn't working.

Next your going to tell us you didn't know there's a button 'preview', right? =D
The quick reply is cool, but you have to memorize all of the codes such as
插入代码块:
[b] [/b], [IMG][/IMG], [quote][/quote]
etc.

"Tsk" isn't a real word though.
I quoted your post and spell checked it, and it correctly flagged "tsk" and "princy". Seems to be working fine.

As for the Quick Reply spell check, that's been nonfunctional for quite a while. I might actually get around to trying to fix it some time, who knows.

Oh, I know about post preview.   I also already type in BBCode, so its not a problem.

Edit: It doesn't seem that convenient.  I have to scroll down so much farther...

It was somewhat like this before spell check:

I was more so referring to the vertical positioning of the words and the odd numbers..
Unless.. Could it be..? Nah. Impossible. Admins don't have a sense of humour.

Yeah I know, I just haven't bothered to make a thread for it

What version of Firefox do you have? I might try installing whatever version you're running to test it. It's working fine for me in Firefox 2.0.
Also, was it working correctly for you a few days ago?

I downloaded 2.0 maybe a week ago, but I'm using red cats (green flavour) skin.. Does that affect it?
And it worked fine before the upgrade of the SMF thingie.

The Firefox skin you're using should have no effect. Hmm, exceedingly odd. It's still working perfectly for me. Anyone else still having problems with it?

Ah, I just tried switching to the SMF vanilla theme and that gave funny spellcheck output like your screenshot showed, Jerky. It was working though, it just seems to be an odd way of displaying it.

So, unless you say otherwise, I'll assume it's completely functional for you (if not looking the same as normal).

EDIT: Okay, I take that back. I just switched back to the TaleWorlds theme and checked this post again, and it still gave that funky looking spell check output. Problem is, it also messed up the post to reflect what was in the spell check window.
I guess I was right that this one won't be a quick fix. :???:

Hmm........ I just fiddled around with related stuff a bit, and the spell check is working for me again in Firefox 2.0. Here's hoping it sticks this time.

I went ahead and got spell check working for Quick Reply and Quick Modify. Turned out to actually be rather simple.

EDIT: finally, I also added in a custom word mod so we can put our own words in the spellchecker. I've added in all dev and admin names, all M&B town and faction names, and Calradia. If you have any other suggestions for words to add, pass them on to me.

Testing, testing, One two three,  Halmar Tihr Reyvadin..
Yay! It's working!

Seems like it may still be munged for some people though. Deniz is using a Turkish version of Firefox 2.0 and spell check is still acting screwy for him.

Ah, inconsistent and intermittent bugs are fun. Can anyone else with a Turkish version of Firefox 2.0 confirm that it's not working for them, or anyone else for that matter?
