Hi all, i'm quite new to this mod... but i like it a lot!

There are just 2 things i hate, one is the way for gaining gold that is based on killing (and i'm lucky if i manage to kill 2 guys in a map), and i don't think you can do much about it nor if other people want it to be changed.

The other thing is the SPAWN TIME, imho is REALLY too fast! There are several round that i managed to survive and gain some money, but i can't play because i wasted time choosing the equip! (i like to have a nice outfit too, i care about colors and such)

So, if people agrees, can you rise it to about 30 sec? I think it will be awesome!
 
Yes, you can still have enough gold if you just assist in killing enemies, about spawn time - I manage my look too but I have plenty of time for it and never had issues with not spawning unless its the 1st round and I joined team too late. 30 sec would be tooooo much, because you see spawn time defines not only time you have to pick your gear but the wait till the next round starts when all enemies are dead and 30 seconds of with no purpose...well it will get many people irritated both dead and alive.
 
I think what Miriam means is the time one HAS to spawn, from the beginning of the round and I fully agree - I think it's being looked into, as it turns out there are no server settings that relate to this so for the mean time there is little to do. I do know that cRPG allows people more time to spawn after the round has begun, so there is hope.
 
Yes.

I have always advocated that the mod supports a delay in spawn time//round beginning on new maps and new rounds. It needs to be added in ASAP... Time for people to get into the maps, to load up the textures and to choose equipment. An extra fifteen to twenty seconds on new map launch would be great.

No need to have ALL player waiting for  me ;D

Oh god.. The Balions during their Vikingr Event not too long ago- Not everybody managed to spawn in time, because many people have to take the time to load up the textures. So they reset the map, and everybody had to reload everything for another 30 seconds. But they kept this up until I screamed into their Ventrilo channel to stop resetting.  :mad:

16gb RAM
Radeon 6900

And i still feel i dont have enough time to "browse" and choose what i want...
I think most new players have this problem, until u memories the price's and equipment for each faction.

Err, the equipment selection is far from complex, you should load super fast as I have a much ****tier PC and it's almost instant.

Isn't it like 30 seconds atm from the time the map is loaded? Just be sharp, it's super simple to have a good idea of what you can get, it's extremely rare that someone doesn't spawn due to that, most of the times it's sitting pre-spawning waiting for space in Faction X or Class Y a lot of time and then they wonder why they don't get to spawn...

I mean let's be realistic here. Every round-based FPS has a limited time to select class / equipment for a reason. The entire team is supposed to spawn almost at the same time, not have 3 guys spawn within 5-10 seconds and then people who want to study the equipment tabs for 40 seconds, that's extremely boring.
Go host a server in-game and select the factions you want, there you can select the classes at will and carefully analyze the equipment of every class with all the time in the world, so you can sort of memorize some builds.
 
That really shouldn't be required though Harkon. I can't see ANY reason not to give people an extra 15 seconds - and not only for the new players : in my experience 50% of FIRST ROUNDS are won by the team that happens to spawn more players. Given the current 'money' system (which I still find ridiculous) it grants a tremendous advantage to whichever side outnumbers and most often destroys the enemy team that very first round.
 
It's a fact that it is mostly people who either load VERY, VERY slow, or the guys who try to wait for a certain class or whatever, as they're in spectator mode by the time the spawn timer runs out. You're only considered part of a team the moment you actually pick a class.

So to be honest it's their own fault, if they want to play the first round they should go for whatever is available. Everyone knows there isn't infinite time to pick what you want to play anyways.
Whatever though, it's up to you guys. Just making it clear that the problem is rarely time to pick equipment (only happens when you're very new and as I said in the previous post, you can go practice / check out prices and gear by hosting a server and playing alone a few minutes. It's what most people do in games like Counter Strike to get a hang of hotkeys and prices), but rather people's fault for waiting so much time.

Why would like 50 people be forced to wait 15 seconds longer for a game to truly start when one individual can spend 3 minutes getting as good a notion of the possible equipment by playing by yourself, as all the others do?
 
It's certainly not just new players and maybe having a fast pc will help, but even I who has Warband installed on a SSD (solid state disk) sometimes miss the spawn time limit. So if it is possible I would gladly add a little bit of time for people to spawn in the first round.
 
Slightly off topic, but not wholly unrelated, but...

At times I will pick one of the class-capped classes, huscarl for example. It is white, it's selectable and I am able to pick my equipment. I press done... Aaaaand nothing. I do not spawn.

The reason being the class has been capped before I could spawn. Well, fair enough right? Agreed, but it is hugely frustrating when the game doesn't put you, atleast, back to the class selection screen. I know it's not a chore to do it yourself, but by doing it yourself you miss out on spawning, on a round, on actually playing.

Is there some form of script that can be made that puts the player back to the class-selection when this occurs?

True, this is actually a very ****ty situation. While rare, very annoying.
 
I've learned that the best to do if you really want to be a certain class is to just spawn fast as hell with the default weapons, and let the other unfortunate skip a round :lol:
