This idea comes for the bug tracker as an alternative to the denied Inventory Chest access during a siege. http://bugs.taleworlds.com/edit_bug.aspx?id=1704
Problem: During a siege, while the tower is being built and between attack waves, the besieger is unable to access inventory in order to change equipment and upgrade troops that leveled while the towers were being built. The defending party, at the other had, may leave the siege between defense waves, change equipment, upgrade troops and even save the game. This is contrary to the fact that the defending party is besieged and should have much less freedom than the attacking party.
The suggestion is that a real siege camp map is added to the game. Just a tiny map with a couple of tents where the player could walk and talk with other lords who are part of the siege. Inventory, character sheet and party screen would be accessible via the hot keys I, C and P. Tab key would return the player to the good old siege menu which would offer the option to enter the siege camp map.
That would solve the limitations, add a depth to sieges and additionally allow the player to talk with all the lords who are part of the siege so that quests can be acquired and proceeded (not just the commander of the siege).
This addition should have minimal impact to the game from technical point of view, because it would change none or very little of the current content - probably only the siege menu. And thus would pose little risk that something else is broken during the process.
