[SP] Appoint a commander

This suggestion comes from the situation that I often find myself in.  I am an archer mainly and I like to keep shooting all the time it takes the enemy to approach us until the very last moment especially if the opposing force is greater than mine.  This often results in me giving out the wrong command and giving it too late too.  It is not uncommon for me to send archers changing all alone.  Especially with Warband's more complex command menu.

I would like to appoint a companion to command the troops.  In that case, I would the give only general instructions to the commander such as:

  • Stand your ground (camp on top of a hill if possible)
  • Advance (at the speed of the slowest unit)
  • Charge (full speed but don't let the archers to engage in melee)

The commander would obviously inherit the AI of the enemy lords, which sounds like a horrible idea but it would only be fair and in some cases would do a better job than myself.  You still should be able to take the commanding into your own hands at any time if you wish and would automatically do so should the companion fall.

The companion would get some extra experience points, possibly a part of the hero's share to compensate.  The companion's tactic skill could play a role, but nothing specific comes to my mind right now.  Now every companion should be able to command.  Thanks for reading this.
